I repurposed my old Samsung S10+ as a duckweed growth monitoring server without any extra hardware. All processing done via termux on the phone. Thank you Claude for the from-scratch blob detection bc no termux OpenCV packages available. Needs work but not bad for a oneshot!
Ive been using this in my golden braid reactions and might actually go isothermal, speeding up a lot of my cloning runs. Only $8 more expensive than regular T4 Ligase. @NEBiolabs knocks it out of the park, yet again.

Manifesting getting my crap together to one day afford this comfortably. Also analog synthesizers inspire my device design style profoundly. I want all my science tools to control like analog synths; I even use headphone jacks (TRRS) as I²C interfaces. More on that soon!

Oooooh, rare maple triple-seed. Was sweeping the porch and this caught my eye. Typically maple trees only male seeds as fused pairs, like wings on a plane. This one has THREE seeds, a bit malformed, but perfectly symmetrical at its seam.
Adding OpenTrons OT-2 direct and agentic control to SpliceCraft. I worry for the future of that robot so need to have that available if they discontinue all support/api/firmware dev.

Heyyyy, we got germination! This thing actually works. I was worried it wouldn't be able to maintain moisture in open air but the wicking material seems to be holding strong. The least hassel way to start seeds in my lab now.
Super simple mod to my falcoponics system, to allow for a self-watering mat for starting small seeds like Arabidopsis and petunia and tobacco. Let's see if it can maintain enough moisture levels by capillary action alone. All in globally standardized Hotel Pan food trays. 🤞
Gotta love the speed one can get if they decouple from graphics and embrace the terminal. TUI's are glorious. Optimizing render cycles for the plasmid map and other movements. I did a huge refactor so now shoring up jank and quickening the everything.
Huh, giving SpliceCraft an agent side-door was actually a good idea. I brainstormed a project to test it out and had Claude Code CLI put it through its paces. Pretty cool to see files generate in realtime in the UI. Still some jank but huge progress!
