I like Internet infrastructure engineering 🇳🇱 in Vancouver🇨🇦
it’s midnight. I should probably go to bed. Instead I’m apparently building a dataplane + router in Go 😅 105 Mpps L3 forwarding in software so far... not bad...🤓
First Wireblast bug report / feature request today 🎉 And just like that, Wireblast now supports jumbo frames🤓 Also made a quick TX/RX demo on the same box as someone asked for an example. You can see pretty clearly how the kernel starts tapping out at just a few million PPS :)
Having a great time at Black Hat. Fun to see many friends and old colleagues! I’ll be at the @tailscale.com booth again tomorrow, demoing Tailscale PAM 🙂 come say hi 👋 if you’re around
100M packets per second! or 100Gb/s at Imix. No problem, see video for demo. Wrote a a neat packet generator on top of the go-afxdp library Ive been hacking on. Check out the video! Sending packets at line rate is easy with this 🤓💯 No more DPDK + Trex needed, Just a small 14MB binary and a xdp nic
Having way too much fun with go-afxdp 😁🤓 Spun up two 100G boxes on latitude.sh with Mellanox mlx5 NICs and sent 64-byte packets between them. Result: 140M pps ~99% of 100G line rate, all using a simple Go program. Not bad 🚀🔥
Some changes in the number of active IP addresses in Iran as of a few hours ago. Responding IP's increased from ~400k active IPs to ~500k. Also see iranmon.com
Cleaning up some stuff today. A bit of nostalgia 🤓Probably don’t need this anymore. Last time I opened it was well over a decade ago.
Interesting trend change visible in the active probing of the Internet in Iran. Looks like something changed over the weekend.
This is what configuring identity federation in Border0 looks like 🤩 Super easy. Identity federation is also supported in @tailscale.com tailscale.com/docs/feature...
Internet in Iran still mostly shut down, but seeing some some minor change in pattern as of April 8th. Visual is number of reachable IP addresses in Iran. Also see www.iranmon.com
6am, Rise and shine! Nothing like starting the day by making sure the Border0 packet parser handles fragmented IP packets correctly 🤓 #NetworkingGeek
I'm heading to AWS re:Invent next week! 🚀 If you're attending, swing by our Booth 1768 to meet the Border0 team (and me!) in person. We're showcasing the World’s First Application-Aware VPN! Stop by for a demo, a chat, or just to say hello! 👋 📍 Find us at Booth 1768 #Reinvent2024
Yesterday, while Netflix was grappling with the live streams covering Iron Mike, I got curious and decided to poke around a bit, specifically checking where my caching server was located.
