When I was 4 I meticulously moved the radio dial a mm at a time looking for secret messages on the AM band. I didn’t really understand how radio worked then. How delighted was I at 11 to learn about short wave and numbers stations. There is treasure everywhere to quote Mr. Waterson.
A couple of excerpts from Phil Hine's Condensed Chaos that I find instructive. The key here is that there is a difference between practical magickal practice and devotion/faith. Pop Culture Paganism (PCP) (the devotion or deification of fictional entities) is one discussion.
The worst part about moving is almost all of it. The best part is unpacking things that became background. Take this most helpful of books. This book helped me have the courage to take the most rad graduation photos in college and be charming in my work study office job too.
