We are Canadian. Push us at your peril. "Cruciatus in crucem. Eas in crucem." Travel, technology, food, infosec, corgi pics, and a lot of Disney pics. If you are a Canucks fan, please see my alt at @viewfromtherog.bsky.social for hockey takes and pics.
Nolan's The Odyssey was a great retelling of the story, even though I still don't like the choppy editing and it didn't quite match up to how I learned it. The name of the island is Ithaquack and Scrooge McDuck is completely erased from this version for some unknown reason.
I mean, Reddit knows I live in Canada. Does it really think any of these companies are obscure?
Masters of the Universe was a lot of fun, especially for those of us of a certain vintage. Big names, great score, gorgeous visuals, and as many laughs as action sequences. It won't be in the theaters much longer. Go support them if you can. Not enough people did.
Delicious Ukrainian lunch at Kozak in New West. I appreciate the food instructions and enjoyed the dipped raw garlic more than I expected. www.kozakeatery.ca
10 years ago I saw my first half trash can at Disneyland Paris. @magicaltrash.com
8/10 Seaside Shanty near Chester, Nova Scotia. Good flavour and decent texture. $28 with fries (I subbed coleslaw).
7/10 Sea Rocket in Charlottetown. Pretty good lobster flavour. Medium sized pieces, but still decent texture. This was the most expensive one at $38 with a salad.
9/10 Lenny's Take-out in Shediac, New Brunswick. Big lobster chunks, good lobster flavour and texture. Would have been a 10/10 except for the bun garlic butter on the bun being slightly overpowering. $22 with no sides.
7/10 Dave's Lobster Shack on the Halifax waterfront. Decent lobster flavour for both hot and cold style. Medium sized pieces of lobster but still great lobster texture. $34 with a bag of chips.
8/10 Evan's Seafood in Dartmouth. Hot style with good chunks of lobster and better lobster flavour (might be partially due to butter ). $30 with no sides.
7/10 The Canteen on Portland in Dartmouth. They call this a Crobster roll because they add snow crab meat. There was decent seafood flavour but smaller bits and no lobster texture. $28 when ordered with no sides.
7/10 Hunky Dory's at Peggy's Cove. Smaller bun for better lobster to bread ratio. Decent sized chunks. Some lobster flavour. $34 with fries (which were pretty good).
5/10 Tom's Lobster Shack at Peggy's Cove. Over dressed, not much lobster flavour. Small pieces with minimal lobster texture. $30 with chips.
The Mandalorian and Grogu. A fun movie for kids and for people who watched Clone Wars and Rebels. I'm not sure why so many people went to a Mando flick expecting a Star Wars story.
We typically have pre-planned spots to eat at when we travel, but sometimes plans change and you find places that you didn't research ahead of time. We ended up at the Claddagh Oyster House in Charlottetown, PEI and the food, service, and ambiance were all excellent. claddaghoysterhouse.com
There is an island in the North Atlantic where people have been looking for an incredible treasure for more than 200 years. #OakIsland
Chicken Boo, what's the matter with you? You don't act like the other chickens do. You wear a disguise to look like human guys But you're not a man; you're a chicken, Boo. #Shediac #NewBrunswick

Seafood chowder at Margaret's cafe, Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia. Only a few minutes walk away from the main tourist restaurant and well worth finding.
Anne Shirley danced with one of the Kids in the Hall. I'm not sure if Dave Foley agrees with his write-up on the Anne of Green Gables Wiki: anneofgreengables.fandom.com/wiki/Dave_Fo...
This is my 6th year of #Vancouver #vegetable #gardening and I'm still just learning. I did part of the bed in spinach last year but it came out really mushy when cooked. Since it's so hard to find Canadian spinach in the stores, I'm dedicating the whole bed to it and trying out 3 new varieties.
