Basically, “just zis guy, you know?”. For money I work as a programmer / data analyst at URMC. Degrees in Linguistics. For fun I play too much Zelda and fumble around on bass. Film lover. Urbanist / YIMBY. Kind to cats.
Now it's doing Japanese transliteration on "The Golden Age"! Reverse transliterated: "Letto za desāto uindo". Seems to be keeping going with this for "Sea Change" as a whole.
I don't know why, but seemingly randomly, the Beck song "Think I'm in Love" has Korean transliteration in Apple Music. Under the English it says (transliterating the Korean) "Ai ssinkeu aim in reopeu". The whole song was like that, but so far nothing else has been.
and going from the one to the other was the owl drawing meme with "draw two circles, then draw the rest of the fucking owl". Any hopes of learning it will involve woodshedding bar by bar.
Good to have a focused habit to help live through all of this. It feels good to play an instrument no matter how bad I am. I can just focus on trying to better than before and having fun.
Have a selection of remote controls for your wee one. Sorry, no dogs, just cats, but they are fairly long if they'd be of interest.
I early voted on Sunday. I understand some people in NYC got special stickers if they early voted on Halloween, but I just got the one they always do. www.nytimes.com/2025/10/31/n...
I need to be in the kitchen chopping veggies for our soup tonight but this is my view right now:
People who don't care about instrument practice have put up with a lot in January (haha no one is reading my bullshit), so here's some snuggly cats as recompense:
My practice posts have been boringly lacking in pictures, so here’s my shitty drum space in the basement.
I’ve been on here long enough. Let’s do a top level post with proof of cat:
And here’s just Hocus (left in the original picture) filling the whole platform himself at ~7 months (today).
Last weekend we adopted three kittens from the same litter. Here’s Hocus, Pocus, and Focus.
