St Paul, MN. Coffeeshops, city life, books and progressive politics. Bad church lady. Pretty good enneagram teacher and coach.
Thanks big box retailer with AI-enhanced shopping. I am totally basing my phone case purchase on how it looks in an empty generic room.
Canonically, the nations that are unjust, don’t feed the hungry, don’t care for widows/orphans and fail to welcome strangers and immigrants. I mean, it’s not like it’s a big mystery.
I would not consider the 2 hours I spent trying to get into two different apps I hadn’t used for a while (password ret, authentication, downloading required authentication app) only to find neither of them were helpful “productivity” or “finance” but ok.
He *could* ask a question in return, but the woman he’d send it to would just roll her eyes and move on.
It’s a good day when you can solve two mysteries at once. Mystery 1: Where have all my readers gone? Mystery 2: Why is it so hard to get anything out of my little crossbody bag today?
Since my podcast recording just got pushed back a half an hour, I thought I’d share Zoom coach/podcast guest set up I all it’s chaotic, homey glory. My backdrop is my beautifully eccentric bookshelf. No one will ever know I am in a small second floor apartment with too many windows for Zoom.
His books always feature ordinary women facing ordinary challenges that suddenly become about much much more. They always emerge scared but triumphant. Anyway just I finished Witchcraft for Wayward Girls. I sobbed through the last 50 pages.
State fairs are awesome, but county fairs are amazing! I guarantee you the Lac qui Parle Country Fair in very rural western Minnesota draws bigger crowds than whatever this is. This entire federal administration doesn’t have a clue what makes America great and can’t even fake it convincingly
Is Mr President the “headliner” for the event. Good for him. Maybe get enough attention to finally be happy. Oh, who’s this? Why, it’s MN Gov Tim Walz at the Fair, laughing with a baby pig. And there he is serving coffee (as a volunteer) at my church’s dining hall. And thanking his media team
Anyway, here I am, giving my acceptance speech to 500 people. I won every vote but one. I was also the only person on the ballot. As I told the crowd, I would have been really devastated if I lost.
I’m sharing the most dad thing my daughter has done this year (dad is also not age-dependent). She requested free logs through Chip Drop to use as edging in her garden. She ended up with a driveway curl of redwood logs. She has found a chainsaw artist to trade lawn art for wood.
I’ve been overthinking prep for my out-of-town conference next week. Today I’m dropping things from my “must do before I leave” list left and right. I really wanted to post an insightful promotional post. But my insightful tank is empty. So… I do enneagram coaching. BethBeaty.com/coaching
So, in a month or so, I should have some baby Christmas cactuses looking for homes. I’ll post pics as I go. Going to root them in water before I plant them. When they are ready, I’ll let you all know. Here’s a few more to show how ridiculously extravagant this lady is.
Also, a client gave me a bag of potting soil last week when we finished up our coaching sessions. We were using soil as a metaphor a lot. That’s a sign, right?
I am planning to repot and possibly split this glorious lady who my daughter calls Grandmother Christmas Cactus. Will definitely be propagating from cuttings. Some context 🧵
All I really want this summer is to have at least one decent peach and for the current regime to crumble and those responsible to be brought to justice. That was a pretty decent peach, so I guess it’s time to buckle up and get to work
One of the lingering side effects of the Trump years will be this how this toward women attitude became part of mainstream politics
You got one key thing wrong: margaritas are not protein shakes. Midwest Bloody Marys are protein shakes. It’s a common mistake
