A nice cozy indoor scene in pastel for anyone wishing it was winter. Not sure what month of the year this was. Supermarket tulips can be around in the colder months when a fire might be appropriate. We no longer have Millie the cat or the piano but great-grandfather's clock is still ticking
Oil on canvas of the Old Malting House and Newham Mill Pond. I think it captures the Cambridge of Gwen Raverat, who lived near this location in the Old Granary (now part of Darwin College). This painting found a buyer ages ago.

Saw this spectacular day-flying moth yesterday in the garden. It is a Jersey Tiger, a flash of colour when it flies but I could only photograph it with its wings folded.
This garden watercolour drawing is from the summer before last. I do enjoy painting in the garden and would be doing some now but it is so terribly hot that it's not possible. #heatwave
Thanks for the interesting comment! We were in Whitby just for the day and I had to finish what I was doing quickly. I didn't work from a photo but I did take one before moving on and here it is! That area is where there's a wooden pontoon and it isn't red but there is some reflected red from/
This watercolour drawing of Sussex Street, Cambridge, is now framed and on someone's wall in Norwich (a gift not a sale). The bridge was added in 1991 by Sidney Sussex college and has a keystone with a carved porcupine, a heraldic logo of the college (see www.patrickcomerford.com/2016/09/sidn...)
Watercolour from a visit to Whitby in 2013. I regarded this as unfinished but in retrospect I don't think it needs any retouching. It has the energy of being done on the spot and is a great reminder of such a beautiful place. #Whitby

Thank you, that's very interesting. I loved wandering around London finding places to paint. Many of them were sold but I was sensible enough to take photos of the originals. This one sold to someone who ran a record shop in Cambridge but I think he had connections to the City of London:

Here's a sketch of the street end of South Parade Pier from 1991. This hadn't been touched by the fire. I remember amusement arcades and all the tacky stuff that made piers so glorious. All very pop art and Peter Blake.
