Portland, if you want to eat at Kaan, I found out they hold some seats and release them a week in advance, so that locals can eat there. That's how H and I ended up at the chef's counter at 4:15 on a Friday and had one of the best, most beautiful, wholly satisfying meals of my fairly long life.
We have two guest kitties while my formerly estranged*, homeless brother waits for his third court date to determine if he can go back to his house after violating a restraining order brought by his son. Neither of them is a reliable narrator. The cats are sweet and keeping us awake like newborns.
