Banned Randy 🇩🇰

“We ain’t got no damned band, Randy!” Doyle Hargraves “I wouldn’t expect you to understand, because this is all for me.” Otis Spunkmeyer I just want to ride my bike. Lower Alabama
Saw this generic SG bass at a pawn shop today, but what struck me was the Dogtown sticker. Blast from the past! In the early 80s I worked at a grocery store in Montecito with a former Zephyr team skater, but I had no idea until I saw a documentary about them that came out in 2001 & there she was.
We had goatheads in parts of SoCal, and that’s how I learned to patch tubes at a very young age. We’ve got these little guys in North Alabama, but you can usually see them in time to avoid them, although one got me a couple years ago.
I feel all accomplished now because I replaced the drive belt on my lawnmower. Now it just spins its bald-ass wheels. Replacements are $28 each on Scamazon™®, so I’ll wait until Monday to see if my local hardware store can order them.
I was born in Wyoming, but this doesn’t make me want to go back. Dayum, this is nuts!
Once again, while fueling up, I was asked a question already answered by my license plate.
This lil guy had just popped out. Either he dried out and flew away or a critter found him because he was gone the next day.
Starting to get a little collection this year. They’ve been setting up above the side door of my garage for their midlife crisis.
Brings me back to one I did after trying to cross a slippery creek in Tennessee years ago.
Anyone have experience with Velo Orange’s front wheel stabilizer or something similar? My Skid Loader bends the rear brake hose and shifter cable in an unnatural manner when the handlebars flip back when on the center stand. I see Surly’s newer iteration has one built in.
Happy oil change day to all who celebrate. Yet another reason to love my Outback is that the oil filter is on top of the engine, just staring you in the face when you pop the hood.
Those people are awesome. Also, recently I’ve noticed that they mask off or repaint the pertinent markings on the cars. I wonder if it’s sort of a silent agreement so the tagging doesn’t get painted over. Ever since I first noticed it, I see it all the time. Here’s an example.
The sunflowers that @glennswench.bsky.social planted at our mailbox are a-poppin’!
It was a beautiful albeit hot day to ride bikes in Columbus, Georgia today. We did a bit over 30 miles of riverfront, railtrail, and a couple miles of singletrack. Highly recommended!
Boots came in when I got home for lunch. I asked him if he wanted to go back outside after his snack, and he laughed at me.
Dude working at Taco Bell: “Geezers are just flocking to us lately. I have no idea why.”
Saturday is my one year scooter-versary, and on the way to work this morning I rolled over 4000 mostly commuting miles on this baby. Miles not on my car. Fun miles. 95 MPG miles.
It’s a legal issue, ya grape. The courts are the ones who are supposed to decide those things. Have you even read the constitution?
Bo Jackson did these annual rides to benefit Alabama disaster relief after the 2011 Tuscaloosa tornado, and we’ve done it a couple times, so it was cool to find this in an “antique” store today. Plus because it’s Bo freaking Jackson, I had to buy it.
I’ve been running these on my gravel bike for a few years, and they don’t seem to get horribly dirty even when staying on pavement. Also have cream colored ones on my Linus (different than the one in the photo) with the same result. Surprising in that case though.
I got to drive it too! It’s way roomier inside than I expected. The seats are a bit high, so there not a lot of leg room length necessary.
