Artist. Vigilist. Protectress. Stop all war. Close all slaughterhouses. Tend to all life in need.
I just heard these words, inside. They struck me, deeply, in the personal with my cancer but, more so, with the truth of who we are as a species. We are love. I do not want to say too much about what I feel. I do want to ask if anyone else has heard these words and what they might mean to you.
There must be more, enough for a book on why we should "expunge" such words. Such a book could be quite educational, and deep in a "make the case" sort of way. I'd write that book.
I wish us the wisdom to heal the gaping holes left in our humanity from childhood conditioning that sliced and diced our compassion to allow the "other," human and nonhuman, to fall through the embrace of our concern. May we rise to end all war, close all slaughterhouses, and tend to all in need.
When $ is kept out of circulation thru extreme wealth accumulation, it harms the rest of us and the commons. No one becomes wealthy as an island. To offset, let's implement a "hoarders penalty" on bank accounts and certain assets of the ultra-wealthy who engage the practice. Is this idea out there?
I want to take a moment to thank all who care for those in need, and speak out to change our ways. It's easy to think the world is suddenly in crisis, but these folks know the truth. Our cultures were built on the domination and suffering of others, human and nonhuman. They know we can do better.
I just realized that I am holding the light against the darkness of the Trump regime for my late mother as well. It brings me to tears. It also gives me strength. Is anyone else out there holding the light for a loved one who has passed? Please share in their honor. My blessings to all.
I so feel that. Even so, the greatest perceived threat, and rightly so, to men who seek to order the world to their liking are women who do walk into the world refusing to know their place and whose compassion for human and nonhuman life, and nothing less, give them their marching orders. So be it.
I stopped writing on Substack months ago. I've been dealing with basic survival and, although I continue to do so, I thought it time to return to writing again. Below is my current focus. I put it out to the universe in hope of support for doing the best that I can for the greater good. Blessings.
The greatest perceived, and rightly so, threat to men who seek to order the world to their liking are women who refuse to "know their place" and whose compassion for human and nonhuman life, and nothing less, give them their marching orders. While men stay the home front, it is for women to march.
90% of hourly wage earners and 60% of salaried make less than $29/hr. AI says it is not enough for basic needs. Most young people do not have a chance to rise into their own on their own. And many elderly are working until death. We are subsidizing the predator class with our lives. It's enough.
My Sunday message to the human species: Close all slaughterhouses. End all wars. Choose universal compassion.
When I heard about this 50 year mortgage, I was inflamed because I have always hated the way that repayment of a mortgage is structured. So I asked: How much interest on an average new home loan would a mortgage holder pay at the current interest rate with a 30 year mortgage and a 50 year mortgage?
I haven't known how to introduce myself on Bluesky but thought I'd share this as a possibility, one that could prove to be mutually beneficial. After 15+ years of caring for my elderly parents, who have both now passed, my once big world became very small. It's time to come out of the woodwork.
I just noticed these two photos in two different bluesky posts, and took grabs of them. It looks like the image is from about the same time on the same day, but the hats are different. Was it just a change of hat, or is one photo doctored?
I've learned that when I express my compassion for humans, pets or species in the wild, I am received well on social media. When discovering that my compassion extends to “farmed animals," that openness often disappears. It prompts me to write on our capacity to "suffer with," a.k.a. compassion.
I believe that all should have the vote, of course, and apologize for the broad strokes. The point is that it may prove more strategically beneficial to form the case AGAINST men having the vote than defending why women should have the vote. We've done that. It's fire with fire time.
More than resistance, it is time to redefine who we are and how we work. It is time to inform elected officials of our vision for our country. It is time to give the orders. Here are some opening thoughts.
I wake this Sunday to the stark realization that the piercing goal of all to the left of the Trump faithful should be to set sights on the Republican Party landing itself in the dustbin of U.S. history as quickly and smoothly as possible. I do mean that it land itself. We need only shine a light.
It's no surprise that Trump forces want to repeal the 19th amendment. It's just another sign that we so need to strategize how best to kick ass, nonviolently of course, so that we can move beyond our 1776 status as subjects and get on with forging a compassion-based commons worthy of our children.
More flowers from the yard. (Yep, I am taking a mental/emotional break in between writing. It's intense out there.)
Yesterday, I plugged in an old desktop for the distraction and found writings for a television series I'd forgotten that I'd written. It is based on decades of dreams I've had, and continue to have. It's called "The Ultimatum." Here's a bit of it. I so wish that I had made it happen.
Flowers from my yard, just in case anyone needs a mental or emotional break. Blessings to all.
