I got to visit my favourite tree this morning. The poor old soul is healing slowly after being butchered one Christmas by Holiday makers, just to decorate their weekend rental (I don't think I'll ever forgive them).
I had a stern looking supervisor at work tonight, definitely not happy with the mess he's found up there.
XC weather showing 100% cloud cover for the eclipse, I would have expected nothing less. It's going to be dry at least so that's something to look forward to
There's quite a lot of rain again, the gutters aren't coping at all, they've had a very busy summer.
What a good year for orchids, there's more of them in Reiff than daisies just now.
The first Shellduck chicks of the year are out on the Loch of Reiff today.
A Black-tailed Godwit chilling out with the ducks and a couple of Redpolls looking as furious as ever.

I thought we'd had an Arrival👽 on The Loch of Reiff but it's just a Heron having a snooze.

Honestly the Summer Isles are real. We don't do the naked dancing , the cold or the midges would put a stop to that nonsense if anyone took the notion. We do have festivals though , again no naked dancing involved.

A Heron and a Glaucous Gull enjoying very different weather on the loch of Reiff.
My trail camera fell down so instead of getting film of an animal nibbling at the block of butter I'd put on top of the post, I got a snippet of The Great Escape. No Ives you'll never make it.
I wonder, is the dread of finding out your parcel is with Evri a self fulfilling prophecy? Also,I don't understand the point of these pictures but this one does make a change from the usual knee shot.
Just had couple of those lovelies visiting Reiff too, the first in a long while.
That was a crunchy drive home this morning,the slush that the wind hadn't blown off the road has frozen. This is the coast so I'm guessing it's very bad inland.
I finally got a bit of spare daylight so zoomed off up to Culnacraig for a bit of whale spotting,just missed them but got there in time to see their feathered entourage disappearing behind Isle Martin. Anyway it was a nice enough afternoon.
No wonder the cheapest Renewed, Acceptable phone I got from Amazon kept running out of charge, it has an energy Vampire🧛🏻♀️. Baat.
