Kansas City based PROFESSIONAL WRITER OF COMIC BOOKS. He/Him Can you imagine anything sillier? Pop culture obsessive, sports guy (sorry), fan of kitsch, tiki, and intellectual wankery.
Somehow the Chiefs are essentially run by white Christian Nationalists, with a Mormon coach, and are associated with the most arrests, shootings and mugshots in the NFL.
I was married for a long time, but I have to admit, sharing my bed with books instead of a spouse appeals to me more and more the older I get.
In the late 40s and early 50s, John Severin and Bill Elder (soon to become EC stalwarts) did some great Western comics for Prize Comics. (Standard contemporary caveats apply, although the comics were much more sympathetic than most media) Some PRIZE COMICS WESTERN Covers from their run.
Bloody Knife tried to convince Custer that charging 2,000 braves with 200 dudes was a bad idea. Bloody Knife was on his horse talking to Major Reno when he was shot in the head, splattering Reno with brains and blood. Reno freaked out and ordered a hasty retreat, costing many men their lives.
From my daughter, an original member of Generation Lockdown: "Living in the US, trying to find news on a mass shooting that happened yesterday in Denver- Google says oh do you mean the one in Tucson, Asheville, Minneapolis or St Louis? Actually none of the above oops😩😭 God dammit..."
I'm not one to shame someone's wardrobe, but Andrew Tate has left me puzzled as to my preexisting assumptions regarding the "Alpha Male" vibe...
Am I surprised that the racism at play everywhere is at its most transparent, here in 2026? I mean, a little bit, I guess.
My daughter got back to her Denver apartment after watching fireworks, and her neighbors were busy blowing more stuff up. I love the way my kid enjoys any experiences. She Snapchats me and her brothers as she explores life, and her laughter at things she finds always lifts me. Make cool kids.
A cool thing about having a father who's spent his life investing in people is spending the 4th with him and chatting with the former mayor of Dodge City and with a former member of the Kansas Supreme Court (both women) about the state of things, but also about the date I have lined up next week.
This was the guy announcing Texas was forcing Bible verses on kids. There is no way that's all that he's forced on kids.
Better not see MAGA celebrating U.S. soccer success, since our leading scorer is only on the team thanks to his Birthright Citizenship, having been born here by accident thanks to his Nigerian parents visiting New York.
I still struggle to root for the US men's team, mainly because I'm so invested in players from other teams, and, you know. But any U.S. fans should thank heaven that Flo Balogun opted to play for us, after being accidentally born here.
Dunno know how my man didn't cook in the coat/bag outfit. Maybe he figured something out with the box hat, but it was hot and humid as hell today. He was reading some old Dark Horse ALIENS comics, and was quite polite. Not sure how he wandered out to Western Shawnee, though.
You could never accuse the Rolling Stones of not engaging in crass commercialism.
I started this channel on a whim a month ago as a way to decompress and kill time when my mind wanders. I edited a couple of old broadcasts and posted them. Now I kind of feel like I need to see where it could go.
I might try to find one of these Colombian track jackets they wore before their World Cup match tonight. Beautiful stuff.
Since dumping my collection years ago, I tend to just browse cheap comic boxes at cons and snag weird shit and garbage. At the Route 66 Comic and Toy Convention, I grabbed 20 books from the 50 cent boxes. Here are a few posts showing off my new old books.
Create videos on the art of writing for comics, and have one video accumulate 11,000 views over eight years. Do a quick edit of Hawk Harrelson calling for Nolan Ryan's head and the brawl that followed, and put it for a month ...
My word, this is beautiful. Portraiture is an art, and Njideka Akunyii Crosby did a wonderful job with this, for the Obama Presidential Center.
