Initially I was upset at this one, becuase Worzel seems more centered in Green with white being something she is explicitly just learning. But I reread Roreca’s Tale yesterday and I like it now - the story ends with her going to get more plains so that she can use more white magic.
If I ever get this card, putting my Feroz’s Ban in here and then doubling down on spells that make creature tokens instead of ever casting creatures myself.
So excited for all these old lore figures getting cards, whether for the first time or just new ones. Am actually useful Autumn Willow? Sign me up! Also, return to Ulgrotha when. Or even just them vs another plane from Baron Sengir’s invasion.
Seeing the updates on this is so neat, especially as the only Arwen deck in the event.
My first 4 commander decks. I built Leinore and Tovolar out of LGS bulk sale days. Jolrael was built next after a string of games where my stuff kept getting removed, then Go-Shintai for Glimmer typal. And Shrines.
I need it now. Give me the old man! And the whole Great Hall arc. I can’t wait till we get a glimpse of Sinocia too.
The Witch Hat Atelier anime absolutely stuck the landing, imo. Such a great adaptation so far and season 2 can’t come soon enough.
I love stumbling across old Magic cards and falling in love with the art. One day I’ll make my deck of just cards with cool looking ladies on them.
Yes, or an Aetherdrift-style interplanar wine mom competition. And it should feature the return of Ulgrotha, so that Autumn Willow and her daughters can take their true form of wine moms.
Such a good chapter and such a good story overall. Highly recommend the Innistrad stories to anyone interested in Magic lore. And also I can’t wait to see if Jace’s manipulations in Reality Fracture mean a glimpse of alt-Avacyn.
In “Promises Old and New” from Shadows over Innistrad, we get a flashback to Sorin and Nahiri fighting and Avacyn intervening. Sorin states that he made the Helvault and Avacyn to protect the plane from planar threats. He’d probably still make something similar for the balance though.
There are significantly better cards than Candletrap, but it always feels so fun and flavorful to play, especially in my Dawnhart Coven decks.
Gotta enjoy work when it involves going to festivals and watching performances like this.
#mtgspoilers Such a great ending and I kind of need Reality Fracture now Also, wonder how many Kiki & Lulu partner commanders we’ll see in June for the pride event? Also, legendary Lumaret and enough creatures or token generators to build a kindred deck or I’ll riot.
Too many to pick from, including Dawnhand Eulogist! But North Star is a fave.
One of my favorite things about Mexican grocery stores is the giant piggy bank displays.
Idk if you’re planning on running Jyoti in the 99, but it seems like he’d pair best with her? Since you can get around command tax slightly (as in bestow her the first time you cast her, then do the cheaper regular cast any other times so it’s a little cheaper).
The whole looksmaxxing thing is endlessly fascinating to me and always seems to come back to who is the audience. Who are these guys performing for? And it truly does seem to be the algorithm. Bring back yearning and forbidden love as a motivator!
Not necessarily the strongest cards, but they’re a cute pair that I find myself using a lot.
Jolrael is fast and fun, especially with earthbending now in the mix! And Mog ends up being a threat quickly, especially if other players want to discard and draw
I find myself constantly going back to this quote from Simone Weil whenever I start thinking about how people think good can be boring.
