oh bunga, janganlah begitu!

a landscape oriented illustration of jingyi, my original character. he’s posed in a somewhat awkward kneeling position, with his right leg on the ground and his left leg up, foot half planted on the ground. he’s holding onto a red ribbon thats entwined around his arms and his neck. he’s smiling awkwardly, looking down at the ribbon. surrounding him are four hands at each corner. 3 of them are grasping at the ribbons - the upper rightmost corner hand is playing with it, the bottom rightmost hand is gripping while the upper left corner hand is letting it go. the remaining hand is reaching out to jingyi himself.

the background consists of decorations present in a traditional singaporean chinese wedding celebration, specifically the engagement. there’s a teapot that represents the tea drinking ceremony. the trunk of the teapot is broken and cracked, however. at jingyis head are 2 red wedding banners, and behind his body is a bird cage. the remaining background surrounding the teapot is a blueish/red background with white patterns (bird themed) that are present on chinese wedding attire.
