I have this kitten on my lap at 02:40 and can’t bring myself to waking her. She, and all of her brethren are SO precious. I am grateful for the opportunity to have saved them.
It’s #Caturday ! It’s #Valentine’sDay ! Momb got a smurt funtain for Bunny, who haz been vrrry sick. She wunted to have hom get mor watr. Sumting calld “hydration”. And I GOT THE BOX! I think I got the better deal. Watson
3/3 Once she finished her apples, she settled into a rising sunbeam to rest. Hobbling around on that one foreleg is stressful, especially in this severe cold. She was shivering while eating. Unsure if it was the cold or being unsteady - or both. Once resting, her shivering stopped.
2/3 Here, she’ll get some sun, as the temp will only get to 5°F. So I took some apples out and tossed them to her. 4 at first. After a bit, she got up and began to eat. Then tossed 3 more. Added a couple of tomatoes. Not a fan. Only 3 apples left, so going to the store.
3/3 She has now taken refuge right behind the house near the Kittenclosure out of the wind. She got 4 more apples tonight and it’s resting. We’re so relieved that she is doing ok. She has a faun to take care of and she’ll be able to do that now.🙂🩷 More apples coming her way!
It’s #Caturday ! Wanted to honor Robin, who we lost this week.😢 He crossed over the Rainbow Bridge Thursday after a serious infection that we couldn’t control. He was a very good boy.😿
It’s #Caturday ! 3 kittens, from our 12 recent rescues, snuggling on a huge pillow on the Adirondack Chair in the Kittenclosure. One is sporting her new collar with a pink bow. These kids are so cute - and busy. Our getting in and out of the Kittenclosure is an exercise in chaos theory.
DARN! Missed #Caturday again. Here's one of our recent rescue kittens becoming alarmed at Sterling, one of our grown juveniles, outside the Kittenenclosure. His ridgeback is impressive.
No, you're not seeing double. 4 of the new rescues: Snow Drift & his twin sister on a fleece blanket. Junior [looks just like his mom] & [no name yet] on the arm of the Adirondack chair. Still working on getting their eyes cleaned, being stuck shut from bad colds - but they're all getting better.
Perfect... #cats 3 of 12 of our new rescues snoozing on dad's lap in the Kittenclosure. What better way to start a Sunday than being so trusted by new arrivals that they fall asleep on you?
It's #Caturday ! We saved 12 🐈 lives this week. 2 feral moms, 10 kittens between them. 2 are albinos. Built a separate enclosure. Got them all washed. No fleas! All kittens have colds with stuck shut eyes and plugged noses, requiring repeat cleaning. Video feed if we can figure out RTSP.
It's #Caturday ! Amber, one of our smallest rescues 🐱, nestled into mommy's fluffy chair blanket. She's so sweet. She greets me at the bottom of the stairs every morning, stands up as tall as she can and implores me to join her for breakfast. 🍵 🐈 Can't pass that up.
Last #Caturday of the year! Boomer decided that our fluffy Christmas Tree Skirt was simply going to waste just laying there empty -- without a 🐈 to comfort. Wish I had a video of him getting it off the table without knocking the 🌲 over.😙
It's #caturday ! Friends will remember Oreo having a life threatening incident starving for air from a lung infection. Touch and go for a number of days. He's been on two antibiotics for the past two weeks and his lungs have cleared. The good thing... He's no longer afraid of me. A wonderful gift.
It's #Caturday ! A recent new resident, Apollo, is apparently settling in.
Couldn't even get near him. Tonight, I visited and he purred again as I stroked his side and head! This is HUGE! He's now sitting up, moving about, began eating, drinking and dropped a poop in the kittybox. I think he's going to make it and realized that we are his protectors and that I'm OK.
It's #Caturday ! We had a harrowing experience Wednesday. Oreo suddenly began convulsing, rapid open mouth breathing, thrashing about, wide-eyed staring into space. No emergency vet available. Got him to our Vet right at opening. Diagnosis inconclusive. X-rays showed clouds in lungs, no tumor.
I've saved this to read at a later date. We recently lost poor Zot to kidney failure and I just can't deal right now. She was a love. We miss her so much.
Zot crossed over the Rainbow Bridge at 01:30 Monday. She fought a valiant battle, but eventually stopped eating - her weight dropping to 4 lbs. Our brave little girl will be sorely missed. We're glassblowers, so we'll create a special Kitty Face Urn for her ashes, so she remains with us always.
It's #Caturday ! Butters caught a Mouse! He's s Kurilian Bobtail. The breed originated in Russia. Rare within the US. He's my guardian. First thing in the morning when I open the window to the cat flap, he goes out into the kittenclosure to make sure it's all safe for everyone to go out.
So sorry for your loss. We have them not infrequently, due to so many in our care. Still, he looks like a twin to our Oreo, who serves as our avatar personality.

It’s #caturday Valentine, our fluffy grey girl who is deaf, provides a pillow for Zot, named for the Harry Potter scar in her fur stripes. Zot, at only 4.6 lbs., is getting antibiotics for upper respiratory infection, fighting kidney disease with daily sub-Q fluids, special food and lots of love.
