We stopped by Northpoint Mall for the first time in years yesterday. This is what it looks like at noon on a summer day 2.5 weeks before school starts back up. I can't imagine why the owners want to redevelop it.
I hope the search committee looking for the next Georgia Tech president at least talks to Gary May to see if he's interested in coming back to Atlanta. It would be a lateral move (he's the chancellor of UC Davis), but at least talk to him.
There should be an index of the stories that led to the creation of every sign. This one is on the fridge in my wife's animal hospital.
Hockey in Georgia update. The City of Alpharetta is a zoning information meeting on June 10, the focus of which will be the proposed sports and entertainment district at the Northpoint Mall location. This is where Anson Carter's group wants to put an NHL arena.

There's no way to conclusively prove I'm right, but I suspect we have the only combo indoor trampoline and curling club complex with valet parking on earth. (For those who knew the Atlanta rink scene, it's the site of the MIC, Justin Bieber's old stomping grounds).
I keep seeing posts on social media about it being inevitable that Vernon Krause is getting an NHL expansion team in Forsyth County, partly because they're moving forward with construction. This is the site as of 3 weeks ago. There's nothing happening there. Balsillie and Del Biaggio vibes abound.

My Kroger has new grocery carts and I have thoughts. They feel smaller on the interior, and the cup holder is where I usually put my right hand, so now my hand placement is unbalanced. I assume they're cheaper to manufacture, and maybe they're made with recycled plastic, but they're a downgrade.

We relaized we're one pet name away from a full NY Times Connections category of words that could mean "Diminutive". We have Minnie, Nugget, and Chip.
We added a kitten to the equation this week and the dogs are still trying to figure out if he's a friend or a toy.
"I'll have the bacon cheese steak melt please." "Sweetie, you ever had a cheese steak omelette? We have a real good cook working today. You're gonna get the omelette and a biscuit. With honey and jelly. I'm not trying to tell ya what to order though." Always listen to your Waffle House waitress.
I'm glad the world probably isn't ending tonight because we need more than one day with this new addition to our family.
