Rounding out my megawad with perhaps the most terrifying concept yet conceived in Doom mapping. Is Doomguy a bad enough dude to stop a malicious virus from turning every map in the idgames archive into a Dead Simple clone? #doommapping
Sad to hear of the passing of Robin Wagner-Pacifici. Her book WHAT IS AN EVENT? is one of those that kind of baffled me on my initial read, yet I found that it stuck with me to the point where I probably think about it on a weekly basis. Maybe it’s time I finally read her book on Aldo Moro
Doom folks, I am at a Giorgio Armani haute couture retrospective exhibit and must share that there is a FIREBLU dress here that is PEAK 😍👗🤤
Where my $300k at Also excellent song name synergy for blatant theft of my blood, sweat, and tears!
Been having fun polishing up some introductory tableaus for the maps in my megawad. Now at 75% complete and getting a little feedback and playtesting! 😈
I briefly misremembered this as the one that extended Bond’s ability to be Inexplicably Good at Everything to video games
There’s an episode of The Prisoner where the main character defeats an AI computer by typing “Why?” into it and making it explode. This prompt is like how you would successfully use that computer
Been meaning to sign up for the Patreon for a while, happy to be “a member of Liz Ryerson” now 🤔 Hang in there!
Couldn’t be happier to get this nod of appreciation for my silly little kill-demons-with-an-adorable-puppy simulator 🐶
Should have posted this yesterday, my silly little map for Jimmy’s 2 Decades of Doom contest. Had a fun time expanding the dog graphics from my old Doomguy Gets a Puppy into a couple of ridiculously OP weapons
Catch me chillin with Legolas in the Swiss alps rockin the FIREBLU ski suit
Seemed only appropriate to go back to my roots as a Doom mapper for @jamespaddock.bsky.social’s Doomiversary jam/contest 🐶
#nowplaying on #compactdisc Picchio dal Pozzo - Picchio dal Pozzo (1976) This gets glossed as “Italian Canterbury” a lot, but is a bit weirder and more wonderful than that, especially on side one. Bonus points for the whimsical album art, too, which fits excellently with the music.
It must be pretty tasty, the liner notes to the classic prog album 666 by Aphrodite’s Child claims that the album was “recorded under the influence of sahlep”
#nowplaying on #vinyl Tangerine Dream - Alpha Centauri (1971) from the double-album rerelease with Atem (1973) “This album is dedicated to all people who feel obliged to space”
Shoutout to my lovely wife, who is indulging me in my decision to have a birthday party themed after the obscure 1973 Italian prog rock album Dedicato a Frazz
I was thrilled to come across a cheap <$20 copy of this classic collection, which I usually see online for $80-100. I’d always gotten the impression that it was important but also kind of dated, so hard to justify shelling out the (for me) big bucks. Indeed a bit of a mixed bag so far, but still fun
Photorealistic depiction of every company currently “looking at ways to supercharge our workforce with the power of AI”
Reminds me of one of my favorite Internet haters, Simone Apolloni, who’s written literally several thousand very negative reviews of obscure extreme metal albums in the User Reviews section of AllMusic.com, usually taking inexplicable care to note what tuning the band uses. World-class hatery.
