One of the last 'features': Unlock-able level editor components.
And for kicks, raises in debugger too, but I want the whole thing to tell a linear story in console/write to log.txt sooo
And I it detects what script, function and line number the debug write occurred AND these are working links to the offending line in the script editor! ...
As debugging Sandstack is nightmarish, I avoided the problem by improving how I debug in Godot, so now I can do this....
This finally got my target POS Lenovo tablet to ~60FPS most of the time, albeit it still tanks down to ~48 when zoomed in. HOWEVER, when zooming I can apply a proportional modifier to resolution scaling without it having much of a visual impact ensuring a near constant 55+ Happy with that!
One of my smarter brainwaves that maybe everyone does. Godot Mobile performance is kinda meh (I mean it's mobile) where anything using full screen just tanks FPS. So don't use the full screen! My puzzle 3D scene only FILLS the middle, so grab the AABB, project pos's, and resize the 3D Viewport!
Top or Bottom :D This Fancy Panels GodotEngine addon is ver nice :D
Partners playing a lot of BoTW. Commandeered their little loading animation of divine beasts hopping along the bottom for SandStack to finish a night of less visual fixes. Community still placeholder, no idea how that's gonna look when finished.
hmm now how do I map a rigged hand asset primarily controlled via rotations (freebie from turbosquisz) to the mediapipe points... It feels so jank, but do I just use the wrist node and compute relative rotations for all points sequentially to tip for each digit? Urgh.
Ooo I could have some fun with this in Godot. If your wondering it's just a local host UDP server reading a constant stream from mediapipe running in python. Standard webcam, little bit of lerps for smoothing.
Just found a super jank old video i made to prove a point to someone, namely "If the Earth is curved, why don't planes need to adjust attitude to stay parallel to the ground?" Ignoring gravity/air and making the plane fly level, even ~100X faster than normal would need minor intervention at best
What I don't get about people defending trad manosphere rhetoric is the idea that male behaviour isn't currently a problem. The data says otherwise, and has done for years.
I dropped my laptop some weeks ago and it took it like a tank. But while everything still works, the corner was pretty battered. Despite being 5yrs old, times are exxy, so I ordered and have just completed a case swap instead. :)
This rocked my faith in humanity a little. Then I remembered X is the cesspit of humanity and beast followers literally watch human suffering for fun, and even THEY picked blue overall. I recon we're good still 😂
Getting my homepage away from WordPress has at least allowed me to go fully light on loading times and finally get all pagespeed insights green (that 99 will haunt me). The other pages still are though... for now.
This week I've recooked my website to be an IndieWeb for Indie devs! Currently just scraping the few Bsky profiles of people I follow to try and extract blogs/personal websites so I can index them, but in future want to scrape instances of #seemoregames so you can easily tag yourself seemore.games
Because I'm lazy, this is just "Puff" from Sand Stack with some CC0 glasses for good measure. I decided Sand Stack game needed some cute mascots, so I slapped a bunch of bevelled cubes together with a 'Kawaii' face on it ages ago. Only had to make one, then the other 3 are just color variations.
Instead of doing actual gamedev, dicking about making an actual logo for my 'brand' lol. Clearly not my forté
I mean.....why. What does this PROVE Google. What does it actually PROVE. Mans grandmas aren't going to provide valuable technical feedback. It's hoop jumping manufactured friction that achieves nothing for actual app quality while merking indie/solo devs time and sanity.
New Godot finally getting likes shown on asset store. Big!
What's that, an actual video for my #GodotEngine puzzle game SandStack?!? 1. Finally made WASD/3 finger drag movement work right rendering the on screen joystick moot 2. Made right click delete work so I don't need to toggle the delete button when designing on PC 3. The editor runs in a web browser!
Promised myself I wouldn't rabbit hole into my pointless traffic tinkering, but then @ralidon.bsky.social was like "But Cities Skyline has like 10k vehicles yo". So now I've been thinking optimization plan...
