Old woman with Autism, who loves to garden, loves dogs, and is a little obsessed with native Australian orchids and wildflowers.
Went bush walking yesterday and saw a huge number of beautiful wildflowers, 2 of my faves below. #WildOz #Wildflowers
Managed to get through "Puppy School" with a pass, with my little half dingo. She did it easily, me, not so easily, but we did it. Now on to bigger things....
That's great, many hands make light work, most of the time anyway 😂 I've been trying to make soup and do some leaf raking, and many paws make more work. The paws belong to the cutest helper though. She's in there somewhere, well camouflaged.
This is my beautiful Pup Frankie. When we lost our old Girl earlier this year, it was heart breaking, but this little bundle of cuteness and joy, has helped us deal with our loss and sadness.
This should be seen by everyone in the world. Also, if you support Musk, you're also a cunt.
lol yep. Neighbour said she wouldn't be driving her kids to school any more, son 12 whinges, "well how am I supposed to get to school then?", Mum says "you know those things hanging off ya bum, use them and ride ya bike or walk". Son :
Like the war criminal PM of Israel with extreme hatred of Palestinians, and the desire to kill children? Or is it more to keep out anyone who disagrees with Israel's genocide? Albanese is a hypocrite.
oops lol LAST YEAR. I put in a packet of mixed heirloom tomato seeds last year, and ended up with only cherry and grape tomatoes, but lots of different colours, and all delicious. Capsicums, chillies beans and basil , in the other one.
My doggo often would lay like that in the back yard, she ended up with a skin cancer on her belly from the sun. Now she gets sunscreen on every day. She still does this, you just can't stop her, so she must endure the sunscreen.
Ah yes, we all have our own version of "Harold" , or should that be Harriet ? They are quite cute, at a distance.
#WildOz #wildflowers Blue is not a colour often seen in flowers, but some of our wildflowers are stunning blue, these are a few blue beauties from my corner of WA.
#WildOz #Orchids #wildflowers These azure orchids are not common in my area, but they are my favourite of the sun orchids.
We have such a range of white spider orchids in WA, and many natural hybrids, these are just a few I've seen this year. Sometimes it's hard to tell them apart, I have to get the magnifying glass and text books out when I get home from my walks.
#WildOz I get to see a lot of beautiful wildflowers on my orchid hunts, and just bush walking around my area. They are everywhere this time of year.
Some unusual orchids from around my area. Very little research done in the South East of WA, so new hybrids and species are often found.
Went for a bush walk in the rain, saw the local kangaroo paws flowering after the fires last summer, nature is beautiful. There are some little cowslip orchids hiding near the paws.
I prefer my small house in my small town. Lots of green space, I can grow food in my garden, and this is the view from my favourite dog walking track, 5 mins walk from my home. You can keep your apartment life. Australian cities are really awful, dirty, badly planned, expensive places.
lol lucky you, you get to experience one of the few coldish days that Perth has. I'm in WA , and we had 8 months of little or no rain over the summer, and horrible heat, so much death, all rain is welcome and enjoyed by us and the species that rely on it. Including the flora.
Gorgeous, all dogs have their own unique personalities, and weirdy bits. My girl is a rescue of unknown parentage, and is totally unique, but she shares some weirdy bits with your pup.
Can I play in the foamy stuff Mum? (LOL she asks after rolling around in the foamy stuff 🤣)
Wow that's early for a lemon orchid. No sun orchids out in my area, but some of the spider orchids are coming out now. Here are a few sun orchids from last season.
LOL yes I can see how you would think that 😅 I'm not one for lots of words, but could have used a few more for greater clarity. Native Australian orchids are beautiful. Here's a few more from my local area.
Dixie has an offer I can't refuse. "Afternoon tea now, or the sheep gets taken out onto the back lawn, and you know what happens next, do ya feel lucky punk, well do ya? . "
They are beautiful, but can be a bit of a weed if not kept under control. Every flower is different, unless you only have the bright pink ones. They have a strong and lovely scent, in late afternoon and at night. Just a few of the colour variations.
For me it's just a matter of choosing which fabrics and styles, don't cause sensory issues. Problems were often from having to wear "uniforms" , etc. I love your photos, I have those "four o'clock " flowers in my garden, and love the variety of colours, and the fragrance.
We have a lot of these in my area, they often hybridise with other orchids in the same family Caladenia. This one is a hybrid with a "Pink Fairy" orchid.
