iron clad ascension 9 win with a deck that didn't really lean towards a particular archetype, it just had all the right stuff. some card draw, some energy generation, some status affliction, some damage increasers, and also Unmovable (double defense of 1st defense card played per turn)

Some good relics helped too: strike dummy was actually SUPER good here, the pearl that gives u a retained card that gives u +2 energy, the one that doubles the damage of 3 of your attack cards. yay. it was against aeonglass too which is the new boss! more of a 'fuck you' to the silent than to ironclad lol (gives u status cards that damage u for each 6 cards you play; silent is all about playing a bunch of cards per turn).

omggGGG ascension 9 is so hard lol i keep getting owned. finally won as the silent (still took a long time but she's my fave character to play so even losing a bunch is fun) and the deck wasn't perfect at all. relics carried me a little lol but shout-out to 2x afterimage (+1 defense per card played)

I had a ton of defense and debuffs (weakness, aka making enemy attack weaker)! And not a lot else lmfao. Even my card-draw had something to be desired, and I had barely any draw-discard synergy. Very lucky it was the queen as final boss and not aeonglass or test subject too, lmfao. Cloak clasp and sturdy clamp especially carried me here for relics. Didn't have the poison synergy for funnel :( If I did, I think i would've been even better off damage-wise

[slay the spire] yayyy finally got success on ascension 8 with defect with an ice/orb/status deck. shout out flak cannon coming in ridiculously clutch at the end. had a ton of card draw but could've used more energy gen. still made it~

successful ascension 8 run with the defect. my HP got nerfed to 69... nice... by some lil scroll things that bite into your max hp bc my draw order was unlucky. i wasn't sure if this was going to be The Run because i had a TON of card draw already by act 1 but damage wasn't scaling at all. i got an early rocket punch tho which gave me ideas... >:]

[slay the spire 2] aaaah i was hitting such a wall with necrobinder on ascension 8 and then i literally won with the power of friendship :V (the card, that is). nerdy details in alt text

not nearly as powerful antics as double reanimate+ this time lol-- an osty-centric (lil summoned skelly hand friend) deck with some status effect strats as an accompaniment. 'friendship' as a card makes you lose some attack strength in order to play extra cards, so i was hesitant to take it at first. but ppl were calling it a really good card so i played around with it a few times and it finally clicked this run B)

[sts2] this necrobinder run was hilariously fun. imbued reanimate+ with (i think its called) war-axe so it played TWICE for free at the start of every combat so i had an osty w a ton of HP right away. AND THEN i got Unmovable [+block] from an event. i only lost HP at the final boss from that point

Necrcobinder successful ascension 7 run. I also got lucky with relics-- two HP-increasing ones, ornamental fan, happy flower, anchor, etc. OH yeah forgot to mention-- enfeebling touch is fucking broken lol i love it

ok i just had to complain (killed by the mega-boss but completed a main run so i say it counts lol). i think i had one too many stance-changing cards and not enough card draw. still had plenty of block generation for the main game

my watcher deck. didn't quite get the 'infinite' loop between 'wrath' (double damage given+taken) and 'calm' (gain energy when you get out of it) that the good twitch streamers can get but i was still able to loop in and out of them enough to generate block and damage for the most part.

Cool flowers I saw on my walk

HUGE red flowers that look kinda like trumpet bells on the end of long stalks. There are three flowers per stalk

Another angle alongside what looks like leeks or some other kind of onion/allium. Also a smaller set of huge red flowers but they might be the same type just not as tall

A large bush like spray of small purple flowers on long stems. The flowers start pretty soon along each stem and go up in a quasi cone shape

this 3rd ascension run with the necrobinder was sooooo fun lol, i got neurosurge* as a random rare card right away and i was like 'oooh risky how tf am i going to work this' but i got like every good doom card after that besides countdown so the answer was: 'EASILY'

i also got pretty lucky with my relics; got lantern REALLY early, mummified hand (huge for necrobinder, lots of helpful powers), bronze scales for extra damage, a couple +HP ones.

Also got some good Osty cards; i was barely taking damage and winning fights fairly fast. all that good stuff
