While devastating wildfires sweep Europe, the EU is considering weakening the laws that protect our ecosystems. Europe’s damaged ecosystems don’t need weaker laws. They need the laws we already have to be implemented and funded.

And just like that, the 2026 Country Bird Survey (CBS), has come to a close. A big thank you to the over 300 volunteers and National Parks and Wildlife Service staff took part this year. CBS is one of the most important and longest running bird surveys in Ireland, running since 1998.
