Recent Reads! Necroscope by Brian Lumley and Redshirts by John Scalzi Necroscope is a book that's not afraid to take its time, and I think it's better for it. We spend so much time with the two POV characters that the reader feels like we know most everything about them, helping the book earn/

Recent reads: Eyrie by K Vale Nagle 4⭐ Easily some of the most worldbuilding work I've seen in a long time, the world is rich and dense. Speaking of dense, so is the story. The cast is endearing and expansive. I found myself wanting more time with some of them. Good thing we have sequels!
Mostly when I post about writing it's just little jokes, so here's half a second of me being serious. I've been out of work since before Christmas. I've got good prospects but no offers yet. And in the time I haven't been working, I've been writing. I've put down 20,000 words since the new year 🎉

Recent Reads Age of Arrogance by @timwolffauthor.bsky.social This trilogy started off good and ended great. The characters were the highlight, from Zeen's goofy optimism, Serena's obsessive dedication, David's depressive spirit that never breaks. Great balance of ups and downs too 5⭐
Tomes & Tea series by Rebecca Thorne is low-spice, but has a spicy short at the end of book 3 (I think it's book 3 at least) so the readers can get their fix. Contains a mutual masturbation scene with the girls
You won't believe this but I JUST read a mutual masturbation scene in a sapphic (not a sentence I'd ever expected to write) Book 2 or 3 of Tomes & Tea has it at the end (series is low spice, so the author wrote a spicy short as bonus content for people to get their fix)
