Fandom, engineering, life. Been around a hot minute. There’s probably going to be a significant number of dog photos, so consider that your warning.
I've got two very excited dogs, one of whom is going to be super disappointed in me (this was during a momentary break in the romping and wrestling and general chaos)
Dropped a pretty penny on two piercings, two rose gold studs, and four rose gold hoops, but damn 50 is starting out pretty awesome.
Well, self control has left the building, but say hi to the goldfish and turtle
Believe it or not, there are two greenhouses in a 20 minute drive that I’ve never been to. I somehow thought they were strictly the annuals/vegetables kinds?? But I was WRONG. The first one has a COFFEE SHOP.
I have a day off, Google maps, and a south facing window with six unoccupied succulent planters 😀
I planted a few things in the flowerbeds and then did virtually nothing with them besides some watering. Most of them were doing hilariously bad from the start except the pickling cukes (whoops, those were supposed to be regular cukes 😅) and the few kohlrabi. Anyway, I need to buy canning jars
I went to the expensive nursery to look for two large cover pots for the large orchids. Then I went to another nursery for potting soil. Then I went to the regular grocery store, where I did actually find potential cover pots. Long story short, I now have a self-imposed ban on buying more plants.
The reason I went to the farm market today: A plant I've had my eye on for a while. I have taken on the care and feeding of a ~25 year old, very slow growing variety of boxwood bonsai.
The most important photo out of the bunch at DW is today's plant acquisitions. My favorite plant store lured me in with freebie giveaways, a drawing, and discounts 😔
Okay, I'm unreasonably proud of this meal: Quinoa, falafel with a makeshift tahini sauce, hummus, cherry tomatoes, shredded cucumber, and some non-dairy greek style plain yogurt (cashew and almond). On the side is some amazing blackberries and blue berries.
Have gone and returned - only one plant ftr, a hanging basket I had a spot for. It's already tipped over to warm and damp outside, thankfully, so the heat's back off and the door's open to Kenna's delight.
Then there's the vegetables. I went for two tomato plants. Not shown: The packets of beans.
I have things to do today but I’m going to have to secure permission to move first
I'm getting an interesting combination of category suggestions from YouTube ("flour"??)
My peace lily is flowering! Apparently it's finally forgiven me for repotting it last summer. Also the newest members of the household: Lipstick 'Mona Lisa' and a Boston fern. The fern will be enjoying the out of doors experience this summer, but I'm hoping to overwinter it inside.
So plant shop recently moved into a new space ~10 minutes away and I've been wanting to go AND I had a gift certificate. You'll be shocked to learn I came home with new plants. Front, L to R: 'Brasil' philodendron, 'Silver Satin' scindapsus, 'Mikado' snake plant. Back: 'Candelabra' dracaena
🤨🙄 It's supposed to be clear this weekend so as entertaining as it is, I guess I know what I'm doing.
