Had a really fun weekend with my sister rewatching K-Pop Demon Hunters, Hocus Pocus, and Over the Garden Wall; going to a farm early on Saturday to pick apples and get pumpkins, making cider (note: do NOT use pink lady apples. Too tart...); and today we did pumpkin carving with her friends :)

Ripples- Duck Magic

The first entry in my series based on my magic Birds in the world building for my fantasy setting. Ducks combine the magic of Water, Flowers, and the Wild Hunt of the fey into Ripple magic, a magic of abundance, of the gradual effects of actions taken by oneself or by others, and of the power to be found in embracing change instead of fighting it. Water magic is teal colored, Floral magic is pink, and Hunt magic is green.

Koi, Sept 2025

Four of the fish are very small and brightly colored in shades of blue green or with orange and blue or pink, blue, and purple with black and no white visible. Others are mostly white with black and red to orange or yellow spots. The four biggest fish have the most variation in color and have more shading. The top left large fish is mostly red and white to creamy yellow, with shades of orange and cool dark pink used for contrast, with large defined red spots and facing right while curling in a C. The fish swimming under its head is facing up and deeply saturated with a mostly blue back shaded with purple and green, with black spots outlined in pink down the spine, and the head has warm pink, orange, yellow, and red broken up by black spots and blobby shapes. The large fish on the bottom right is facing left and mostly horizontal with the tail curling up. It is lightly shaded in light blue, pink, and yellow, with a few spots of pink, darker blue, and mixes of these colors. Crystallized and Molten, Sept 2025

The central gem is colored in with orange, a few around it are pink/purple, and the leaf-like shapes are emerald or citrine green. The large sections around it are filled in with black with some white visible to show shine and the rough texture of raw obsidian. Lines of orange surround them. The crest of the head is colored in saturated pink with dark pink bands and a few uncolored areas as highlights.

In the background and making up the top half is a dragon with a crystal round eye colored with turquoise blue and several imperfect and sometimes curved edged gems emerging from the side of its face and back, almost like the plates of a stegosaurus but more 3D. There are multiple sections on its body colored like different precious stones such as black opal, green jasper, malachite, tiger's eye, hawk's eye, etc., and smaller gems emerging as if the dragon is made of cracked rocks with gems poking out from it. These gems and cracks along its body are colored in a variety of colors based on different gems including yellow/orange citrine, dark red zircon, brighter red ruby, deep blue sapphire, turquoise or purple alexandrite, purple amethyst, emeralds, and lighter green peridots. The snout of this dragon is colored with bands of purple, turquoise, blue, yellow, and orange, based on a rainbow fluorite.

Fortune Reader, Full Color, Sept 2025

Based on the Smaugust prompt, Oracle, is a lightly colored black and white drawing, with some areas shaded lightly to heavily in colored pens, of a mostly serpentine dragon coiled slightly on itself and facing right. It has a long head with a black rectangular eye framed by a dramatic eyebrow, and it has two forelimbs with three clawed fingers each, the left holding open a book in front of it, scrawled in illegibly to the audience, while its right is bent closer and holding a card face up with two crescent moons back to back. Its head is topped by sinuous horns that curl back and straight up and are adorned in jewelry and henna-like tattoos. The body and horns have light brown shading in a few places, the left forelimb blending in with the sandy yellow/brown loosely shaded ground.

A pair of lightly red shaded bat wings sprout from the shoulders and have rings pierced through them. The dragon is covered in more tattoos, including many eye motifs along the tail and elbows, and a long water dragon amongst a wave on its back, curling in and out of view. That is shaded blue and turquoise while others are black and white. The tail has red-gold jewelry pieces, including bangles on the end, and a fabric-looking purple piece.

It's saying 99% certainty, which is really disheartening. :/ Like, I know the angle of the legs looks weird, but that's how dragonfly legs are. I don't know if it's that or something else, but I want to avoid whatever it is.

Pansexual Dragonfly, Apr 2022

Nebula- Starling Magic

The second entry in my series based on my magic Birds in the world building for my fantasy setting. Starlings combine the balancing magic of Celestial magic with Sky and Illusion magic. Nebula magic is the magic of the freedom of uncertainty, of the true obscuration of the future despite people's deep desire to know it thoroughly, and the joy of mimicry. While many Birds with Celestial magic predict the future with a degree of accuracy, if not precision, Starlings offer visions that may not be true. Sky magic is blue, Illusion magic is turquoise, and Celestial magic is purple. Green is used to indicate the fey nature of this Bird, since Illusion magic is one that belongs to get beings.

Bisexual Ground Beetle, Apr 2022

The Aftermath, Aug 2025

The bones are covered in small, sharp crystals and on the skull are a few remaining clusters of scales. Behind the skeletal remains is a lumpy pile that may be crystals or glass pieces. From the top left, where the shading of the cave is a lot lighter, a dragon head is visible looking at the remains with a difficult to read expression. It is unclear if the dragon is simply moving in, if the dead is an ancestor or was its young, if the living dragon actually killed the other, if it's looking at the hoard with greed. Its eyes have no pupils and it has a slightly jagged appearance on its head/face.

Flowering from my Mind, Jun 2025

Abstract pen and ink drawing with looping lines filled in with different shapes, lines, and detailing. Below and to the right of the shell, a flower with lines progressing from each petal and shape into a pattern like tangled yarn. A section reminiscent of the ocean is above that with a cutout like an octopus or a gaping maw of a fish. Swirling patterns, sets of parallel lines, keyboard patterns, and black and white circles are throughout. Some patterns to the right are animalistic, with shapes like animal skulls, a cluster of overlapping fish, a shark-like creature, a spider, several bird heads, a phoenix, a croc or mosasaur with open jaws, and a diamond shaped snake head. To the top right is a section like a finger print with sections around it having lunar, solar, and eye patterns, beside which is a mostly white area with black detailing reminiscent of an axolotl. In the center top is something like a black hourglass with white beads, below which is a beach scene, bold black and white patterns, and a white section broken into trapezoids with dots like rivets.

Red Rocks, Oct 2021

Luminous Depths, Aug 2025

Mixed pen illustration of a serpentine, bioluminescent deep sea dragon for Smaugust, curled in an S shape, with the tail at the top and head at the bottom. The body of the dragon is mostly black with shades of dark blue, purple, and dark teal, and there are brightly colored spots, with the biggest being green spots resembling the patterns of orcas and behind large barely visible black eyes. More elongated yellow, light green, and light blue spots are scattered along the trunk while smaller spots of varying colors including pink and orange line the spine. Large colorful glowing fins emerge from the middle back and under the chin, and the tail to the neck is lined on the dorsal side and underside with a continuous multicolor fin.

The background is almost completely filled in with black pen, with some shapes cut out from the darkness, including squid and shark shapes near the top with light coloring in teal/purple and yellow/orange respectively, bubbles throughout, and a few strange deep sea inspired creatures, as well as distant glowing green, yellow, and purple lights. By the dragon's head is a colorful creature with a dolphin shaped body and a head with a mouth that is like the trunk of an elephant with teeth lining it. There is a large glowing coelacanth in the middle left by an orange snake, and an eel-like creature at the top with an orb by its mouth like an anglerfish near the squid.

Framing everything is the very long and thinner tail and body of another creature, another sea serpent that is much bigger and has a small sail on its back like a sailfish.

Nonbinary Bee, May 2022

The bee is facing up and left and is very similarly colored to a real bee, with purple used for the eyes, lighter portions of otherwise black legs and antennae, and shading black fuzz on its thorax and abdomen on the top, where light seems to be hitting it. Purple is also used for the veins of the semi transparent white wings, which are partially folded over its back. Yellow is shaded to nearly orange in dark parts of the body and close to white in others to give the fuzz depth and definition.

Bigender Shore, Aug 2025

In the bigender colors: shades of pink and blue, lavender, and white; is a landscape with a starry sky of dark and light blue, pink and purple near the bottom center and right, and forming a linear diagonal purple cloud of stars between two rocks. The rock on the left is tall, narrow, and purple at the top, colored in bright pink and blue on most of the rest, with stripes on the bottom rock. On the right is a shorter, rounder blue, lighter pink, and lavender rock on the right. On the far left is a blue and purple rock face with highlights that are melding into the multicolored stones on the bottom left making up the shore. Clear water reflecting light is in the middle ground and broken up by small blue rocks and dark reflections of the larger rocks. Shooting stars are visible in the night sky, which has fluffy clouds on the bottom right horizon, some pink linear and fluffy white clouds visible between the rocks, and some purple and dark blue linear clouds on the left of them. Yay, Spooky Season! A lot of my creepy art is old, so I'm hoping to turn some of them into digital pieces this month! My favorite scary movie is The Babadook, but it's not one I watch often. I am more drawn to classics like the animated Legend of Sleepy Hollow.

RUN, Oct 2017

The Woods Have Eyes, Oct 2019

Gel pen semi abstract drawing of a mostly green and yellow dragon with other rainbow colors in its triangular scales and a very long skinny body with only one of each of its forelimbs and hind limbs visible, which are curled with long claws over a heavily saturated and brightly colored doorway shape. The dragon is facing left with jaws open and a long, skinny forked tongue extended. The body is strange and wavy, the limbs defined in ways that seem anatomically odd. There are large plates on the dragon's back, largest around the hindlimb and smallest by the head and tail. Above the arched back of the dragon is what seems to be a wall of flame, and the dragon either casts a shadow on it, or the flames are purple right behind it. Under it are lighter blue shadows, including one that incongruently extends from the portal itself. The foreground is loosely defined with squiggles, lines, and green, purple, blue, and some warm colors closer to the dragon.

The front appendages are not at all like a frog's, however, more like a penguin flipper, but with one large hooked claw on the tip. The frog has the left front appendage resting on the ground, the claw curling up towards it and the underside of the appendage showing. It has a few curved lines on the underside. This appendage appears larger than the one on the right, which is tucked into the frog's side.

I've never posted this before, but given what is going on with censorship for nsfw artists, I figured I would do this. It's the most "risque" art I've ever done, and to the Inktober prompt Blind. I went with a blindfold.

Constellations- Raven Magic- WIP

The third entry in my series based on my magic Birds in the world building for my fantasy setting. Ravens combine the elucidating and pattern recognition aspect of Celestial magic with the vast expansiveness and scope of Sky magic into Constellation magic. This is a magic of cosmic fortunes, history, wisdom, and lofty visions. They tell fortunes of the grander sorts, of figures that have importance in the grand scheme of things, altering the course of history, down to relatively fine details. Ravens are often described as enigmatic, their typical way of speaking obtuse, making the fortunes they offer fairly open for interpretation, especially since they often speak of the past, present, and future as a continuum rather than distinct phases. Purple is associated with Celestial magic, and blue with Sky magic.

One of these started as a character that I already had in mind from my planned fantasy novel, and the others have been more integrated into my world building. Most of the true dragons have single elemental magic. The first resembles my MC's love interest but is a Water dragon with a Warm alignment.

Bound Wings, Sept 2025

A Mess of Ink, Aug 2025

The map has musical notes, splatters of ink, and scribbled out sections, presumably done by the little dragon, and there are cubes on the map, as if it was a battle map or a game map.

Duck with dark teal green feathers that are mottled with light and dark green on the head, light green and blue with dark green on the neck and bottom of the body under the wings, which are in shades of pink and a few spots of yellow. The top of the body has pink and yellow among the other colors, and the breast has pink, blue, and dark green. The beak is orange/pink.

Inspired by the Smaugust prompt Fruit, this is a colored gel pen illustration of a creature with the appearance of a slightly ripe and narrow strawberry, colored with light green and yellow in some spots, mostly colored with a mix of red, pink, and orange. The leaves are vibrant shades of green mixed and from them pointing to the top right is a head like a turtle's, with a red spot under the eye and yellow and contrasting green spots. Two webbed and clawed feet emerge near the top of the fruit while two dragonfly-like wings emerge on the back, and it appears that the dragon caught and is taking in an insect through the leaves, a long pair of black thin legs sticking out and slightly bent and flailing. From the bottom of the berry, two more legs are visible but shorter and splayed out.

Lighthouse, July 2017

Polysexual Western Blue Butterfly, Apr 2022

A digital piece of a color altered photorealistic Western blue butterfly in the polysexual flag colors against a blurred mottled background of the same colors (magenta, green, and blue). The butterfly is facing up to the right. The thorax, line detailing, and spots on the outer parts of the wings are mostly pink, while the wings have more blue at the top, light in some sections to be slightly iridescent, and dark and rich at the wing tips. Green detailing and spots of individual scales are in between, and some spots on the wing tips are bright light green against the dark blue and really pop. The body has details of blue and green to tie everything together and give it more dimension, and the eyes are blue.

A Story Told, Sept 2025

Based on a Witchtember prompt Fox, but my mom thought it looked like the wolf from Red Riding Hood was disguised, and I love that idea. Hence the title, based on a song from the Count of Monte Cristo musical.

A somewhat anthropomorphic wolf or fox is upright facing left on its hind limbs with a cloak with some loosely defined shapes to indicate the folds wrapped around so the front limbs are not visible. The left back leg is defined in a way that it seems to be solidly on the ground, though none is drawn, while the right hangs in the air ahead, and a tail swishes on the ground behind, pointing down and under its body. On the top of its head/face is a decorative headpiece with cutouts that are floral and a large cutout around the visible eye. The creature looks like it has long hair flowing behind it, and the fur is somewhat dark and darker on the ankles and tail tip. Just above the visible paws are lighter anklets that are banded vertically.

Against a background of warm mostly yellow lighting and framed by a cave opening colored with black, brown, purple, and orange is a serpentine form vertically positioned with what looks like a head with giant eyes tilted backwards over the back. This section is colored lightly with gel pens to create a pastel vibe in shades of vibrant pink, light green and blue, and hints of darker green, purple, and blue. It has large segments and small flaps on the edges and all over the body. In what looks like a mouth are a pair of slightly darker pincers, and the top of the "head" has a ridge of many colors, mostly light blue with red, purple, and yellow throughout.

The first section is emerging from the top right of a turtle shaped shell that is very vibrantly colored with all shades of the rainbow, with yellow against blues and purples or in large spots and surrounded by red then green. A lot of the shading crosses over itself to blend things like blues and pinks, greens or oranges and yellow, etc. From the left section of the shell curls a shorter serpentine form that is more yellow, pink, and overall shaded but similar to the top segment, with a more defined head. It seems to be sleeping, with the visible eye shut, relaxed head crest drooping over the left part of its head (viewer's right) and emitting tendrils of smoke from its nostrils. The cave floor is mostly purple and blends into green at the edges.

Last night I decided to add color to my crystal dragons. I actually have a lot more of the one in the front done as of late last night, but I unfortunately didn't take a picture. Basically the idea is one is made of multiple precious stones and the other of partially cooled obsidian and floral gems.

Crystallizing- WIP

Pen drawing of two dragons, one with most of its head facing left visible in the foreground with somewhat crystalline and somewhat organic shapes for its floral looking eye and leaf like shapes from it to the neck and snout, with three long lobes on the back of its head. It is mostly uncolored but the central gem is colored in with orange, a few around it are pink/purple, and the leaf-like shapes are emerald or citrine green. A few large sections are filled in with black with some white visible to show shine and the rough texture of raw obsidian. Lines of orange surround them.

In the background and making up the top half is a dragon with a crystal round eye colored with turquoise blue and several imperfect and sometimes curved edged gems emerging from the side of its face and back, almost like the plates of a stegosaurus but more 3D. There are multiple sections on its body colored like different precious stones such as black opal, green jasper, malachite, tiger's eye, hawk's eye, etc., and smaller gems emerging as if the dragon is made of cracked rocks with gems poking out from it. These gems and cracks along its body are colored in a variety of colors based on different gems including yellow/orange citrine, dark red zircon, brighter red ruby, deep blue sapphire, turquoise or purple alexandrite, purple amethyst, emeralds, and lighter green peridots. The snout of this dragon is colored with bands of purple, turquoise, blue, yellow, and orange, based on a rainbow fluorite.

Festival WIP- Sept 2025

Fortune Reader, Aug 2025

Based on the Smaugust prompt Oracle is a mostly black and white drawing in pen with a few splashes of colored pens, of a mostly serpentine dragon coiled slightly on itself and facing right. It has a long head with a black rectangular eye framed by a dramatic eyebrow, and it has two forelimbs with three clawed fingers each, the left holding open a book in front of it, scrawled in illegibly to the audience, while its right is bent closer and holding a card face up with two crescent moons back to back. Its head is topped by sinuous horns that curl back and straight up and are adorned in jewelry and henna-like tattoos. A pair of wings sprout from the shoulders and have rings pierced through them. The dragon is covered in more tattoos, including many eye motifs along the tail and elbows, and a long water dragon amongst a wave on its back, curling in and out of view. Near the end of the tail are two gold bangles.

Overflowing Drawer, May 2014

Pansexual and Genderfluid Frogs, Aug 2022

A digital art commission I did for an online friend of their pride flags used to color otherwise photorealistic poison dart frogs. One is facing down and right and colored in the genderfluid pride flag colors, with a mostly purple and pink head, black eyes, and most of the body covered in dark purple to black patches surrounded by white and blue on the back and legs, on which the patches are a bit smaller and some are pink. Below this frog is a different looking poison dart frog facing up and right, colored in the pan pride flag colors. Most of its head and dorsal section are pink with highlights for detailing, while the underside is many small and organic but regularly spaced blue patches surrounded by thin areas of yellow, some of which is tinted dark, especially at the very bottom. This frog has bright blue eyes. Both are shiny and a little bumpy looking.

Leaping for Life, Aug 2025

Abstract deer leaping upwards with a curved back, curly multipronged antlers, and loosely defined legs, with looping lines crossing through and overlapping the deer and forming the background, which is fully filled in with color. Some areas are scribbled a lot and have small white spaces as a result, most of which are filled with spots of color. Others are open and have patterns, cross hatching, color fills, several spots with blended colors, and a section to the left with colorful repeated lines interrupting each other. The deer is breathing out bands of color and is colored in multiple patterns.
The colors of the piece are a full spectrum from pinks and purples to yellow, orange, red, greens, and blues.
