My dad was a Boatswain's Mate on a destroyer escort in WWII. For a ship reunion, I flew mum to San Diego. He was smart, funny, kind; shipmates wanted to meet us. After 1 said, "Your father took care of his men," I wept in the bathroom. Feeling rage and profound sadness for sailors on #USSLincoln.
