Now drinking one of those beers that the bar staff warn you about and recommend a taster of. It's got Szechuan pepper in it and is making my mouth go numb. My lips feel weird. I feel like I've been to the dentist. I don't hate it. [Jess]
At The King's Head BS1 for an Oakham/Thorn bridge collaboration (it's as great as you'd expect), a choice of milds, and a Newbarns IPA, among others. Pretty good pub. Pretty pretty good.
Lost & Grounded for Brasserie de la Senne Landbier and their own Helles. There is a breeze. It feels as if it's thinking about dropping to a normal temperature. The beer is very cold. [Long sighs of contentment.]

Lost & Grounded. The Gose is back and very good – just a straight up interpretation, no gooseberries or what have you. West Coast Pils fails the seasonal special test: it's not better than their regular lagers. Decent, though.
We haven't been to The Good Measure for a while. Spoiled for a choice which is a shame as we're only stopping for one. De la Senne Crisp & Bitter for Jess, Marble Mild (cask) for Ray. 🍻🍺

A very pleasant 3+ hour cross country walk to “Bristol’s best pub” for 2025 which is very much not in Bristol.
