It would have taken about 30 minutes to drive there. Even at the average price of $4.06 for a gallon of gas in DC which would have cost about $3 one way. A single completed lesson trip would have realistically cost taxpayers anywhere from $32,000 to nearly $74,000 in aircraft operating costs alone.

Saturday I went down to the water across from my home to watch the tall ships come in under the Verazzano Narrows Bridge. I live in a heavily MAGA part of Brooklyn & even through someone tried to start a USA USA chant, nobody joined in AND I didn’t see a single MAGA hat anywhere. 1000s of people too
Hey! Maybe you can someone up to the southern part of Shore Road Park in Bay Ridge & clean up more than the Citibike stations. Cars are buried & busted up but you can still get to a Citibike.
There is literally not an ounce of shade anywhere unless you go into one of the Pavillionettes which look like attached mausoleums instead of houses in a sterile cookie cutter midwestern suburb. None of that says state fair to me and I’m from Michigan we know state fairs. And the food. Just ugh.
It’s running until next week and with the coming temps in a few days rocketing up over 100degrees I have a feeling there will even less people than there were this weekend. It’s just a guess though but 103degrees on Friday and rain all weekend I would say it don’t look too good for the festivities!
