Very good but "Earl of Manchester" just had me picturing Robert Morley as Montagu in Cromwell rather than Tostig or Hardrada.
I don't really have any strong feelings about office relocations (except to say that it has nothing to do with devolution) but this is an embarrassingly weak objection from Powell.
Obviously it's a stupid fucking question in the first place unless you are willing to specify what "proper northern" means. What I want to know is how much crack do you need to be on to think that Wilson was only pretending to be a northerner?
Considering the ubiquity of the NHS, why is it unlikely that somewhere with established pharmaceutical, engineering and chemical bases, a proactive university, good transport links and access to a large labour pool might try to leverage that in a high value area. Is it the funny Ur-northern name?

Just to say. If any of either the Ohio or Alabama Bumfuckers (is that the right name for residents?) wish to relocate to Huddersfield and steal our swag and style I will not compare the situation to that of displaced Palestinians.
