Happy Canada Day to our neighbors to the North! We share a continent, the Great Lakes, and a friendship that goes back generations! 🇨🇦 #CanadaDay
As we end Pride Month, I wanted to show my support for the dignity of all people and treating others with respect. That includes our friends and neighbors in the LGBTQ community. Our diversity is a strength as said in our national motto, E Pluribus Unum- out of many, one.
Food Truck Friday at Shades Beach in Harborcreek Township is my go to spot on Fridays in the summer! Today was Passalinqua’s Pizza with the extra large slices! The food, the view, and the people were all great!
Wishing a blessed Eid al-Adha to all our friends and neighbors observing!
Today we honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Let us recommit to honoring their memory in the ideals, for which day gave their lives.
Memorial Day ceremonies at Wesleyville Borough and American Legion Carl Neff Post 571 this morning were a moving tribute to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
Thank you to the Erie Chamber and for having me as a part of a legislative forum for their Knowledge Breakfast at Penn State Behrend. Sec. Rick Siger from the PA Department of Community & Economic Development gave an informative presentation. The forum was engaging and timely policy discussion.
Thank you for all of the birthday wishes! I appreciate each and every one of you!

Erie was well represented at the PA Capitol this week! With various community and civic leaders in attendance, Harrisburg was definitely in an Erie state of mind! Advocacy from our community goes a long way to putting Erie front and center in the halls of government!
Law Day, celebrated on May 1 and throughout the month of May, has been a visible part of American legal culture since 1958 to celebrate the rule of law in a free society. To all of our Justices, Judges, including my wife Judge Emily Merski, lawyers, and all in the legal profession-THANKS!
On Tuesday, with bipartisan support the PA House passed a set of common-sense bills to make lives easier by creating the option for drivers to carry their license and vehicle registration digitally, joining 21 other states who already offer digital ID. Both bills now head to the Senate.
The Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency is reminding students that they can now complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Applications are due by May 1 for most students. Get started here: studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-...
Wesleyville Borough is truly a special community! Yesterday we celebrated Arbor Day by planting trees at Hinkler Park, and each tree was dedicated by a community member to a loved one in their memory. Our area is blessed to have so many good people and nice public parks for all to enjoy!
For 47 years, Matt Deforce has been training youth in boxing at no cost. Rep. Harkins and I were delighted to honor him with a citation from the PA House of Representatives for his almost 5 decades of giving back to the community through the Lower Eastside Fighting Eagles.
As we celebrate #EarthDay, Erie Mayor Daria Devlin and I helped plant the first of 41 trees on E. 38th Street Blvd. Working with PennDOT, DCNR, and the City of Erie, we were able to get this project accomplished. Happy Earth Day!
Erie was founded in 1795 when the Pennsylvania General Assembly commissioned the surveying of land near Presque Isle through an Act passed on April 18, 1795. Happy Birthday to our gem of a city that has been sparking for 231 years!
