On to new Synergies! Give Me the Gauntlet! with Adam Warlock & Thanos (Deathless) Nebula: Start the fight with a Bulwark Passive for 15 seconds. Adam Warlock: +8% Precision Buff Potency. Thanos (Deathless): Corrosion effects deal +10% damage.
Yes, I'm aware that if you get 10 Amp Passives, you can regularly & easily toss out 10 Shocks that deal 47,515.5 damage over 6 seconds. Chee'ilth can maintain that kind of damage with her Bleeds (137,313.75 over 9 seconds with 10 Bleeds & 10 Spirit Charges; not difficult to maintain).
It's not the highest damage in the game, but it's so much better than where she's at after being outpaced by so many newer Champions, even comparing 6-star to 6-star. It puts her in a very respectable place.
20 Shocks = 95,031 damage. + 10 Amp Passives = 142,546.5 dmg. + 12 Shock Vulnerability Debuffs @16.67% Potency each = 427,696.5 Shock damage. Doubled by SP2 = 855,393 Shock damage. Plus up to 427,696.5 damage before you double the shocks with SP2 = POTENTIALLY 1,283,089.5 Shock damage.
[[The idea that Nebula completely resets every time she converts Amp Charges to Shock Debuffs is... Clunky, in my humble opinion. This at least can give you a leg up in subsequent fights, and it can increase that Shock damage she's so reliant upon. Let's run some numbers next.]]
When activating Special 3, convert 1 Amp Charge to an Amp Passive (Max: 10). These Amp Passives persist between fights, are not lost when converting Amp Charges to Shock Debuffs, and do not count toward Nebula’s maximum Amp Charges. They otherwise count as Amp Charges for Nebula's abilities.
Signature Ability – Firmware Refactoring Shock Debuffs While the opponent is suffering from at least 1 Shock Debuff, Nebula’s attacks gain +25% Combat Power Rate. [[But wait... There's more!]]
Special Attack 3 – Galaxy-Class Killer Nebula gains a Weapon Overcharge Passive lasting 25 seconds. While Active, Nebula has a 65% chance to gain an Amp Charge when making Contact with the Opponent. While active, any contact with the opponent has a 75% chance to inflict a Shock Debuff.
Special Attack 2 – Shock and Awe Nebula removes all personal Shock effects on the opponent. For each Shock removed this way, she inflicts 2 Shock Passives each dealing 8447.2 Energy Damage over 3 seconds. [[7⭐ damage values. Other than that, no changes.]]
While Nebula has 5 or more Amp Charges or Passives, Critical Hits Nullify 1 Uncanny effect from Mutants, dealing a burst of 10559 Energy Damage. Cooldown: 3 second(s). [[These changes give her greater combat control, reduce chip-damage on blocks, & make her a terror to recent Mutant stars!]]
Perform an Intercept: Gain a non-stacking Bulwark Buff for 10 seconds. While this Buff is active, Opponents have -40% Ability Accuracy when hitting Nebula’s Block. This chance is increased by 20% per Prowess effect on the Opponent, and is capped at 100% while the Opponent has Prowess.
Perform a MLLLL Combo: Convert all Amp Charges into Shock Debuffs on the opponent. Perform a Well-Timed Block: Purify one Prowess effect for every 4 Amp Charges Nebula currently possesses (rounded down). [[Well-Timed Blocks made it too easy to lose the charges you were building, so... Changed.]]
Amp Charges While holding Block, Nebula builds up 1 Amp Charge every 0.65 seconds. Each time an Immunity prevents a Shock effect on Nebula, gain 5 Amp Charges. Max Stacks: 20. Each Amp Charge reduces the opponent’s Ability Accuracy by 20% if they are a #Robot. [[So far, no changes.]]
[[Note: The burst damage vs. Mutants guarantees that she's not completely useless against Shock Immune Mutants, like Dust, Emma Frost, and Storm. She's still hampered vs. Magneto & Onslaught, but given their canonical magnetic powers, I'm okay with that.]]
Shock Debuffs Unless otherwise stated, Nebula’s Shock Debuffs inflict 4751.55 Energy Damage over 6 seconds. Against Mutants, when a personal Shock fails to trigger due to Immunity, deal a burst of 4751.55 Energy Damage. [[Reminder: These are 7-star, Rank 6 values.]]
... recovering the damage dealt over 5 seconds. If Stunned while Self-Repair is active, it is lost. Self-Repair and its Charges are Immune to Ability Accuracy reductions. [[Note: This ability remains unchanged.]]
Self-Repair Nebula begins each fight with 3 indefinite Self-Repair Charges. When she runs out, she will gain another after 10 seconds. Each time the opponent deals more than 110% of their Attack Rating in a single hit, Nebula will spend 1 charge to gain a Self-Repair Buff...
[[Developer's Note: In the comics, Nebula is capable of piercing illusions, and this allows her to counter Dani Moonstar's Illusions. Yes, it also counters Prof. X's Falter, but it's limited to Mutants only. The Armor Up ensures that she's not useless vs. Havok, which I always thought was dumb.]]
ABILITIES, continued... Her cybernetic enhancements grant Nebula a permanent Armor Up Buff, increasing Armor Rating by +250. If this buff is removed for any reason, it will restore itself after 10 second(s).
Let's begin! ABILITIES Always Active Advanced Robotics provides full Immunity to Bleed, Poison and Shock effects. Her computerized brain also grants her Immunity to Reversed Controls, plus a permanent Vigilance Passive against Mutants.
All of her values are going to be based upon a 7-star, Rank 6 version of her. She's still going to be a Tech Champion, and the idea here is to buff her, rather than replace her in your roster with the proposed fin-headed Nova Prime version MCOC had you vote on months ago.
Why are we looking at Nebula, you ask? Not only is she not available as a 7-star at present, but her kit has been far outpaced by Champions like Shuri, Nimrod, and other more current Tech Champs. She also has no real advantages over Mutant Champs, so she needs better utility against them.
#mcoc Summoners, It's been a long time, but I'm back with another #ChampionRework that I sincerely hope that Kabam will consider. This time, we're revisiting one of my all-time favorite Champions. She's been a villain! She's been a hero! She's a Guardian to you and me! Here's to you, Nebula!
I haven't done one in over a year, but I feel like I really want to look into the design of #mcoc Nebula and am contemplating a #ChampionRework. She's one of my absolute favorite Champions in the game whose kit has been surpassed by other Tech #Champions, plus she's not available in 7-star rarity.
