I am a person who exists. (She/they)
Thanks, I hate it! I mean, I do love burgundy but I am not a fan of orange or very bright reds, gold is mid, and fleshy pink? Naw. This color palette looks like barf. Yuck! Here, have a go: pantonecolors.net/pantone-birt...
"It’s 100 degrees outside in DC. People have been waiting in line for about 45 minutes to get into the 'Great American State Fair'" I've updated the alt text with some key details.
I have very little patience for people who shit on folks trying to make the world a more accessible place... Blocked them.
Now I know why my grandma is suddenly finding "god" and feeling the need to slide Trump politics in our conversations. She used to just be my chill grandma with a giod head on her shoulders. I pray for her sanity. She's 90 years old. Leave her alone, techbros!
Your stuck. I am stuck. Whatever shall we do?! *Stays comfy 😻.*
Hubs cooked the soup I wanted to make tonight with the broth I made yesterday. He even made matzo balls! There's an Italian Jewish deli in town & I took inspiration from their matzo ball italian wedding soup. Our version is inspired by my Rusyn heritage. It's made with little dumplings (pelmeni).
It is done. First it may rest, and then we shall feast. Lasagna blessings upon the timeline!
Lasagna is happening! Hubs grated the cheese and boiled the noodles. I mixed the ricotta with basil, lemon zest, sea salt & fresh-cracked black pepper, and pecarino romano. Then I assembled this big bold beauty. I'm so excited 🤩!
Holy motherforking shirtballs... This is some of the best tomato sauce I've ever made. I am so happy! I put tiny carrots and zucchini in there too, for veggie's sake, and I'm making hubs assemble the lasagna b/c I'm wiped. The sauce is downright unctuous! We'll have lots leftover to freeze, too!
I am currently making the meat sauce (tomato gravy)! The Wiseguy cookbook is one of my favorite cookbooks. I got it at the Mob Museum in Las Vegas almost 15 years ago!
Greyboi is also fruitsy loopsy from his day at the vet, so we can be fruitsy loopsy together 😻.
ATTN: The turkey that laid a clutch of eggs in my inlaw's yard is now a mom. The eggs have hatched! Unfortunately, one turkey chick was left behind, so now my mother in law is a turkey mom. Poor bebe. She's in the Twin cities area.
I have finally got out of the house this week. We went to the farmer's market, and the liquor store. One of these bottles is for a belated 11-year anniversary celebration today. The other is waiting for a certain someone to drop down dead. Life and death, baby, as the seasons turn turn turn!
"Four paws, farts, love and fur?" You just described Greyboi, one of our cats! He likes snuggling up in my office and filling the whole room with farts while he snoozes.
It's salad-picking time! Today I got: lettuce, arugula, basil, mint, dill, tarragon, nasturtium, and parsley!
People are really out here trying to be a smug aggro smartass ALL the time. Doesn't it ever get exhausting? Don't answer that lol. I hope y'all have a good day! Here, have a cat photo.
Got 58 to 99 down here in PDX. It's been pulling this ish all spring and I am not a fan. My chronically ill body was not built for this! The flares 🫠.
First harvest of the day collected! Tonight we're making one-pot spinache, chicken & rice for dinner. I'm gonna make a chimichurri from the cilantro, and we'll marinate something in it tonight to grill tomorrow, or this weekend. Vibes increasing in goodness!
This tuxedo boi won't eat his food in the morning unless you give him many pets, tell him he's a special lil' guy, shake his dish just so, and give him a gentle head bonk. Will. Not. Happen. Proper deference must be paid... I don't mind though, b/c he's our sweetest boi.
Technically she was snuggling into a sleeping position, but she is now officially snoozin' in the sunshine.
I mean, have you ever seen a more purrfect sleeping kitty face? C'MON!
I have added peppercorn and bay leaves to my chicken stock. I may have also added too much water, but that'll simmer down. It will be fine! Just gotta sorta keep an eye on it for a few hours; make sure it doesn't bubble too much or too little.
I hope you all are having a lovely evening! I'm listening to The Spin Doctors while I water my garden, drink a beer, and look at the pale moon in the spring blue sky 🤩.
I present: our current record collection, in its totality. Note the lump of musical vinyls on the left. Someone gave those to me awhile ago, and I'm going to get rid of most of them. But see how we do not even have one single shelf of records? Not even enough to organize! (Yet 😁).
I found The Drifters on vinyl for one single dollar! I used to work as a carhop at Sonic when I was a teenager, and I just love oldies music. Did you know The Drifters are a Black band? The most iconic sounds in US musical history come from Black artists. This is Classic Americana.
Me trying to access Bluesky any day between about 4pm-8pm Pacific time.
My Purple Cherokee tomato plant is already making a tomato! In MAY in Portland, OR. This is... Not OK, climate-wise, but it will be very delicious once it gets bigger and tasty.
