My first attempt at making vindaloo, and it's turned out beautifully. Tangy, spicy, savoury. I don't like onions so I pan-roasted some carrots instead. Pork, with a little bit of potato. One of my carolina reapers was enough to make it very spicy indeed. 🌶️🥔🍛
The old carolina reaper plant is in full goblin mode; it will be a very spicy autumn. Jalapeños are coming too. The new reaper plant is not yet blooming but seems very healthy. 🌶️
Had a craving, so here's some yakisoba pan. Savoury buckwheat noodles on fluffy soft buns.
Had some sausages but no buns, so I improvised some! They turned out pretty well. 🌭
My favourite stool, salvaged from my dad's classroom many years ago. It had taken some water damage and the seat was splitting apart, so I've tried to restore it back to the condition of being a comfortable place to sit.
This is my third attempt at making potato knishes and I'm getting pretty satisfied with the result. 🥔🍞
Thursday was a hot day, but it rained hard in the late afternoon and after the weather was nice enough for a bike ride. Along the lakeshore I encountered a few short waves of thick cooling fog, it was like riding through a freezer. Have never experienced that before.
Putting my new reaper and jalapeño into larger pots now. I had two ripe peppers on the old plant but some raccoons came and stole them!!! Rude. 🦝🌶️🌶️
It's been 2 years since this post taught us to immediately clock "Mister Shit" YouTube thumbnails and it's been keeping me a little more sane ever since.
Tried making falafel today for the first time. They're a little bit delicate but extremely delicious! 🧆
Late night tacos. I gotta say, corn tortillas are probably one of humankind's greatest achievements.
The two early reaper peppers are almost ripe. As for my seedlings, 2 jalapeños are doing well (and a 3rd given to a friend), 1 is doing poorly, 1 has died. The reaper seedling seems happy.
Well I dropped my phone today, and it developed some pretty cracks. Thankfully it's under the surface and doesn't affect touch. Setting up USB debug now cause the next time I drop it I might need to operate it without the screen. Lasted a good 5 years though! GG Samsung J7.
I forgot to follow up on this post, but after testing out the cardboard version I did begin making a wooden one out of spalted maple...
E DUDE ABIDES. I'm pretty sure this graffiti has been here by the lift bridge for about a decade now.
Protip: ketchup packaging is designed to "accidentally" squirt out more ketchup than you wanted. Put it into one of these and have perfect ketchup forever.
I put some beets in my shrimp curry and it turned very red! Quite curious... 🦐🍛🍠
The pepper plants have been growing alright, in a few weeks maybe they can move outside. Two of the jalapeños seem a bit behind. The old reaper plant has two nice little peppers growing. 🌶️🌱
My potato phone can do no justice to it, but they were great. Would love to see them again.
