We also got some of the best wind resources in the lower 48 along the southern Oregon coast. If we figure out how to build transmission lines we could plausibly have some of the cheapest power on earth.
This is a pretty cool project! There's tons of submarine power cables longer than this around the world, but I'd never heard of one going up a river. Seems like a good novel solution to help us bring Eastern Oregon wind & solar energy to the Willamette Valley.
