Oh hey #portfolioday what's up? I'm Bree, cartoonist and animator! I love designing cute characters and cool cars.
pretty good progress for today! next up: fleshing out the bar and kitchen.
hell yes we got stairs, we got stables, we got GABLES (plural), we've started hollowing out the interior so we can add floors and block out the bar+kitchen
someday i will learn the method to make nondestructive window holes- but that is not today
the great thing about fantasy worldbuilding is that you can explain a lot of things with wizards. "why are there so many stairs? why are they so wonky?" i dunno man, ask the wizard
Office garden tour! Each of my plants is accompanied by at least one (1) Little Guy
If you read Hex Americana and liked it, please leave a review! Whether it's on GoodReads, StoryGraph, or just telling a friend, letting more people know about this book makes it easier for me to get the next one made. Thank you so much!
It's my birthday, which means I get to tell people to buy my spooky car racing kissboys! Hex Americana is a rip-roaring GN about love, community, and self-destruction. Ask your local library or bookstore to order a copy, or get one directly from @ironcircuscomics.bsky.social!
Is it really a fantasy universe if you don't have a big weird animal to ride on
Got a motorbike and a sword, that's pretty much everything you need for a book right
Garden updates: grass is gone (thank u Rent A Butch!) and lawn is ready for clover, got garden beds with strawberries and basil, tons of sunflowers, and my first lavender harvest of the season!
My office plants have been doing great lately, they've attracted all kinds of guests
Also, if you'd like to yell at Google for incorrectly listing my name WHICH IS RIGHT THERE ON THE COVER, that would be wonderful~ This shit is why nobody wants AI
What did capitulating to anti-queer parents get Pixar? Their biggest flop yet. Maybe it was not ever going to be a hit, but at least it could have been true to itself. This and their excising a trans character in Win or Lose is a pattern, and it's concerning.
Approaching my mid-30s finishing my third graphic novel, having kickstarted two tabletop games, animated on countless video games, learning Blender:
Gitaroo Man has this delightfully corny Wizard of Oz-style story of finding your true self. I love it not for being perfect, but for being true to itself. That's art, baby~
i've been trying to find the right word for this book's tone and art direction and... is 'zany' ready for a comeback? I think zany is a good descriptor.
