The New York Times outdoes itself yet again. The "Israeli army’s struggle to curtail settler violence?" The Israeli army is not struggling at all — they’re participating. They’re literally standing outside the Palestinian homes with the settlers. Insanity.
Just finished this collection of essays by @edithmirante.bsky.social. It’s stunning. The title Mithuns are a friendly, white-socked cattle of south Asia, and Edith loves them. The intro essay is about meeting them, but, characteristically, Edith barely mentions her own drone-running for rebels… 1/4

Talk about a close one. On a cosmic time scale I came THIS close to getting whacked by a meteor. Whew!
Horror movie here in the Vermont woods. I started the lawnmower and immediately got swarmed by a bunch of yellow and black stripey things. A few stung the bejeezus out of me. I think it’s a bald-faced hornet nest. All I can say is they started this war.
Don’t make me laugh. Anyone who thinks Cornyn, after a Senate career featuring a lengthy stint as a magat whore, will go against the grain on this, despite his trump-induced retirement, is suffering from delusions. This nom goes to the floor.
I was walking my dog in Eufala, Alabama one day about ten years ago and took this photo on an iPhone. I do not remember how I got this effect other than by just editing and then running the shot through more of the same edits after saves. Looks like it could have been on a Confederate dollar.
Another one of my thousands of negatives and slides that were doomed in flooding. This is a river in Ladakh, not sure where. #filmphotography
About 2/3 of my 40-year photo archive was destroyed in flooding a few years ago. Observation for #filmphotography folks: negatives in plastic sleeves were ruined; negs in glassine were all okay. Most of the wrecks were worse than this. Mold loves emulsion. Nikon F, 50H, Agfa slides #photography

Portrait of a Burmese anti-fascist student who, with thousands of others, escaped military government street massacres in 1988 to join Karen rebel forces to take up arms against the oppressor. Nikon F2, severely reticulated Tri-X #filmphotography #blackandwhitephotography #war #Burma
That looks great — and I just had a similar experience with an image I found from a Canon Elph point and shoot with either 3 or 6 MP and it was amazing!
Many years ago, this Indian civet walked out of the jungle, limped to where I stood, lay down beside me, and let me stroke her as she closed her eyes and died. It was an awful moment of strange magic. Nikon F, 50-H, Tri-X #filmphotography #photography #Nepal #wildlife

I have no clue what these chicks were doing lined up in front of someone's house 30 years ago, but it was in the Hollywood hills, so it could have been anything. M650SM, Tri-X #filmphotography #photography #streetphotography
Today is the release of the superb new novel The Fire Agent by my old buddy David Baerwald. No exaggeration: this book is a big (600+pp), original, epic masterpiece. Gorgeous writing! So delighted that my photo of Dave is in today’s NYT. MX-EVS and HP5 #TheFireAgent #photography #filmphotography
