I do social media stuff for video games (Star Wars, Marvel) 🎮 personal account. mostly gaming, anime, and music
Unbeatable is a slower burn than you'd think (at least at first), but once it gets going it absolutely has the sauce
went to the Backstreet Boys residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas and I think all future concerts should take place inside the big orb now
big recommendation if you're in Las Vegas: Interstellar Arc it's a vr experience where you explore a space station with your friends. super well done, felt like physically walking through the presidium in mass effect 🥹
Game 5: Unicorn Overlord Haven't finished this yet but oh my god I love it so much. Truly have never played a tactics game like it with its mix of turn-based and rts elements. You'll spend a lot of time in menus optimizing your squads, but seeing the engine run is so satisfying.
one day I hope to drop a "mmyes" as dastardly as this guy #unicornoverlord
Game 4: Sushi Ben The gameplay for this one didn't click with me BUT I do love the PS1 + manga-inspired vibes they got going here. It's a cozy game where you help a small sushi restaurant that's about to close - and in turn help revitalize a small town.
Game 3: VA-11 HALL-A It's the type of cyberpunk story I really dig, one that's dialed in on the day-to-day life of a bartender in a futuristic city. The game did a great job at capturing everyday folks processing Major World Events™️ while still giving weight to personal drama.
I will take literally any chance I get to preach the gospel of the ssx series
Game 2: Disco Elysium There is simply no other game like it. It's an RPG, but stats have less to do with combat and are more about keeping your sanity while solving a murder The writing is dense, but it beams a clear image into your brain on what's happening. It's easy to lose yourself in Revachol
in Thirsty Suitors, your grandma is the final boss and I'm cackling at her entrance
at no point will you ever know what's going to happen next in Thirsty Suitors, I'm having a blast
so I found a puzzle featuring artwork by longtime Final Fantasy artist Yoshitaka Amano ...this is his take on Gex
the music in rhythm doctor is so good, I've just been jamming to this game for the past week
the ways in which Rhythm Doctor tries to trip you up are so clever, even in the early stages like I'm not sure what I was expecting out of a one-button rhythm game but I'm having a blast so far
"And as he fought and scrabbled to prevent himself from falling out of the tree, it came to him suddenly that he was going to win." went in for a cozy movie, ended up getting a kick in the pants to keep fighting. The Swan is wonderful, and watch the whole Henry Sugar anthology while you're at it
I'm playing 12 games recommended to me by 12 friends this year! 🧵 (Each game posted once finished) First up: Dredge Cozy little game where you fish and dredge up treasure from the sea and nothing goes wrong 🙂↔️ The art's gorgeous but it's the sound design that REALLY sells the eldritch horror vibes
picked up Absolum after it popped up on a few GOTY lists, and yes the art is beautiful and the combat is refreshing for a beat-em-up, but also it has cool dwarven lore so it's a masterpiece in my book
to be honest, System of a Down's BYOB said it better than I ever could
Skate Story does what any good narrative should do, and that's making the moon your enemy
one thing about me is I physically cannot stop myself from taking screenshots of Skate Story
the controls of Skate Story are a bit convoluted, but I kind of love them? you're a demon of glass and pain trying to escape hell, it should feel like a struggle games are at their best when the mechanics elevate the narrative. Skate Story is 100% my shit
