How does a lake, as large as Pigeon, get such a bad fecal infestation. This site is beautiful but my gosh does the lake stink. Here's hoping the severe thunderstorm warning gets downgraded.
Ah yes. Mighty humid as we are right next to the lake. A growler fill before leaving town was the right decision. While it was in cycling distance the heat/humidity/smoke means driving was the smarter choice. Still brought all the tiny gear 😂
This is what she's talking about. Her and I have been going back and forth in a different thread.
The path they are talking about is the tiny trail that is sketch as hell at the end of an alleyway. It's much safer to go down a bit more towards Mill Creek. Just a bit of hill climbing to go back up to Scona Road (that has no crossing lights) The one they are talk about just more fun, sometimes.
Have I ever said how much I love this patch? Best little addition to my bar bag. www.bearfacegeneralstore.com/product/urba...
No more, please I beg of you. My yard can't take much more and we had street/alleyway flooding again last night. Alleyway - 3 times in less than a week Street - 2.5 times in a week
Nick didn't pull the drain off, he was just moving it for visibility. Second pick is the aftermath.
Well that was super fun! If you're going tomorrow, buy one bottle of water then go out to the water refill station! It was hella hot in the tent. But a great show!
When talking about the ATNE build out today, Kingsway is NOT done. Ground was broken in late Fall 2025. Talking about how it's already helping the area sounds like it is done. It isn't. Rode through on Saturday and had to take the lane to continue West on Kingsway out of Blatchford.
From Instagram Stories. You can see and hear him a bit. He looks small, but the corvid defense crew is on it.
Chat, we have a Merlin in the neighborhood and all the corvids are PISSED. Off and on all afternoon there have been bird arguments. They are trying to kick him out. He's hanging out on the top of the driveway trees.
Sometimes you just need to stop and admire the flowers. 😍 We were out of town and I was so worried we'd miss the big pop of blooms on this bush.
Streetview has one but it's a decade old. It's just a bit of frustration that we have these facilities and want a mode shift but not much to support it at destinations.
Working at an event next weekend at the Expo centre, and checking for best ways for me to get there... how do they not talk about bike parking? It will be faster than taking the bus but not a peep on the Building or event website for bikes. It's only 8 KM of a ride too.
It's on the list, but people don't realize where the counters actually are. I've seen them on 132 Ave and they MIGHT be up on the Quarry path too! For anyone following the thread: Diamonds on the ground, those are the sensors.
Bike maintenance day is always a messy one. Four bikes, two to be put away for the season. I also find it funny how close my hybrid frame is to my gravel bike. It's like they only make one shape for X's frames 😂... Or I have a type.
They have in-person meetings for updates planned. Would recommend people to go if they can!
Also fuck this shit. I got yelled at by a driver to use said bike lane. I would have, but it was blocked. The delivery men heard me say that too.
Comedy wrestling, when done right, is fucking awesome. I don't think I'll have much of a voice tomorrow. 😂
I fuckin knew it. I knew I'd be doing this at some point. At least partners bike can wait a few days.
I wish it came north enough in Edmonton that we could have used it instead of NEEDING to buy a car. I have friends who regularly use it and it's a great alternative to individual car ownership. Hell we loaded a bunch of bikes in two vehicles to go ride in a bedroom community. 😂
You gotta know when to tap out. Called for a rescue while out with my bike. I knew freezing rain was on the forecast but it's bad out there. That is just ice on the seat.
You can see where the cars bottomed out going alley to alley. Partner saw a garbage truck get stuck in a different spot too. We get snow plows tomorrow, but this is hella stupid.
