Remember this when he proposes transportation benefit district funding for the in-kind replacement for the Magnolia Bridge. Which was only competitive at all in the alternatives analysis because SDOT gave it nearly full points for “community support”. (It appears they only asked Magnolia residents.)

They’re called chicane! SDOT crew installed similar ones on a long hill near my place earlier this year. (These are asphalt and pre-cast concrete to avoid expensive demo needed to turn them into planters.)
From the game earlier but no service: The crowd is taking over Alaskan Way. Down to one lane with people pouring over into the street.
I wish Apple Maps (and frankly SDOT’s signage) did a better job of helping people understand the glorious Michigan Left maneuver on Beacon Ave S. This is the best way to turn south from westbound S Columbian Way. Not rat racing through the neighborhood.
Not just cars. We can put a mini swing gate at the Alaskan Way bike lane detour at the cruise ship terminal, too. Easy peasy. Let’s normalize using our streets for the appropriate purpose at the appropriate time with permanent infrastructure.
