It's cool when designing a tool in a vacuum and later find you had to same instinct as mainstream methods. Its less cool when you realize there was no reason to spend months developing a worse version of something that already exists, and is free to use. It's hard to steer hyperfixation
Prison Planet is more Battle Bros. It just won't be called volume 2 cuz that's not very exciting. No way I'd abandon the bros, it's my only established ip. As a kid my comics always revolved around some dumbass character. Not much has changed

Am I wrong or are some of the examples in this first image not actually tangents? The right eye and the hair line look like coherent design choices. Tangents aren't just lines touching... It's about avoiding spatial ambiguity and not misleading the eye.
