Thrilled to visit St Nicholas church in Overstone to see dedication window in memory of Samuel Jones Loyd (Lord Overstone). Installed by his daughter Lady Wantage in 1903.
So enjoyed visiting Althorp House - the Spencer estate - in Northamptonshire
Now we are in Leicester and visited the house where I lived in the 1970s & Richard III tomb at Leicester Cathedral
Today I have visited St Peter’s church in Oundle where we are staying in the lovely Talbot Hotel
Lovely visit to Upton House near Banbury today to see its world-class art collection @nationaltrust.org.uk
Was lovely to briefly pop into St Pancras New Church. I’ve walked past many times but never been inside. Grade 1 listed and consecrated in 1822
Finally visited Brighton Pavilion today - have walked past but never been inside!
Great to speak to fundraisers at CIOF conference about the Wesleyan Million Guinea Fund (1898-1901) which built (amongst many other things) the Methodist Central Hall in London
The London Library Archive is now accessible online & contains valuable membership forms from its inception in 1841 onwards. This material was originally collected in ledgers with the new member’s name, their address & the name of the member who nominated them. londonlibrary-archives.co.uk
Enjoyed #LSEEvents talk tonight by Elif Shafak. (It’ll be on LSE Player in a few days). If you only read one novel this year - I heartily recommend ‘There are Rivers in the Sky’

I saw the obituary for the architectural historian Andrew Saint in @thetimes.com - This book was so important to my PhD
