Finally getting my brain biopsy tomorrow. It's a bit nerve-racking, but good to finally be having done. If something goes wrong I can only hope some of the worst people in this world quickly follow behind me. Be good to one another and never forget what an absolutely amazing planet we live on.

Totally separate note, Metapontion minted some of my favorite coinage. This one with a mantis is probably my fave!
There were also coins with mice minted in Lampsakos, Nagidos, Metapontion, and the Roman Republic.

Some things spotted in the garden today included some Purple Clarkia (Clarkia purpurea) and a spider-parasitizing wasp. Still waiting to get a biopsy for my brain tumors, but oncologist seems to think they look low-grade and non-aggressive, so that's good.
I don't post much art on here, but I'm going through old sketchbooks with my wife and we liked this page of doodles. I'll probably post a bit more art considering the circumstances with my 🧠.

The image is likely AI. There are two fountains by the WH: the closest is near Penn Ave, but has less lawn near it. The other in the President's Park near E St. The Pres Park one is the closest match to the image, but the fountain resides much further from the WH than what is shown.

More native flower love! Some species of tiny bee, wasp, or fly are going absolutely wild.
One of my favorite times every year is the flowering of the Cistus landanifer (Labdanum). For a brief week or so the large bush gets covered in these lovely white, red, and yellow blooms that last a day before being blown away on the breeze.
