Just listened to this again again, having listened before and read the actual book at least twice. I love this story so much. @patricknessbooks.bsky.social is a genius, and I wish he'd been old enough to write such stories when I was growing up. No, you're crying.

This book is amazing, infuriating, informative, fascinating... Basically, it's all been downhill since the Normans did their conquesting thing, and men have made loads of shit up. Would thoroughly recommend.

Anyone with young people 16-21 in Wales: get them to apply for a travel pass for really cheap bus travel. Then you can stay at home drinking gin instead of being a taxi service 😀
