so is the idea here that relatively rural and relatively urban areas are going to be different countries now? why? and how would that work? editors need to force people who write stuff like this to be more concrete.

My students and I talk a lot about what fossil fuels have allowed us to do and how that might compare to renewables. This concerns not merely transport and heating but also notions of freedom and modes of collective action. It’s exciting to see similar ideas in a publication as mainstream as Time.
