I wonder if I can use this logic to say the government was weaponized against me when it revoked my student loan forgiveness.

Biden weaponized the government against me. I was promised that my student loans would be forgiven. Mr Biden, while representing the government, promised that I would receive $20,000 in forgiveness. Then, the Supreme Court, which is also the government, took away what I was set to receive. I believe this was in retaliation for who I voted for in the 2020 election. The government was discriminating against me based on my partisan beliefs, causing damage. My damages mount to $20,000 and interest accruing from the day the Supreme Court stopped my payment. This Supreme Court decision was an instance of the government being weaponized against me. Therefore I am entitled to a share of the 1.776 billion class action suit.

This is worrying. The Pentagon denies it, but The Pentagon under Pete Kegsbreth hasn’t been a reliable source as of late. Larry Johnson, the retired CIA analyst who made the claim, is reported to have a history of making false allegations, and often appears on Russian state media.

It’s been two days since this was alleged to have happened. If it did happen, I would hope that the cabinet would have invoked the 25th amendment by now.

If the cabinet failed to act, I would hope Caine would blow the whistle by telling Congress who would then pressure the cabinet to invoke the 25th amendment.

And if the cabinet didn’t invoke the 25th amendment, as a last resort, Caine should tell the American people. This would likely cause widespread panic. That panic would hopefully be enough to get Congress to immediately file articles of impeachment and speedrun a trial to convict and remove.

With the GOP’s recent history of not performing oversight, it worries me that even something like this wouldn’t get them to budge. If Trump launched a nuke, the US would most likely be subject to immediate retaliation from every other nuclear power, causing globally assured destruction.

God help us. I’ll see ya on the Dark Side of The Moon.

Wow the GOP in Dallas is trying to suppress the vote by changing the rules about where one can vote, on the day of voting. There needs to be national election reform.

Nationalize Elections:
- Make Election Day a national holiday.
- Everyone is automatically lifetime registered to vote once they become eligible.
- Ranked choice voting.
- Vote anywhere in your county.
- Mandatory at least one month of early voting before Election Day.
- Anyone can request a mail-in ballot for any reason.
- More voting locations in large cities, so people aren’t waiting for hours.
- No restrictions on passing out water for people in line.
- Mandatory paper ballots, so audits can be performed.
- Free rides to and from polling locations.

$AN OPEN LETTER TO ELECTED OFFICIALS Editor’s Note: Miller clarified in a follow-up email that she is not aware of specific plans in Shelbyville or Shelby County for an ICE facility and wrote the letter to begin a dialogue within the community. Dear Shelby County Commissioners, City Council Members of Shelbyville, and Elected Representatives, I write to you on behalf of the residents, business owners, and community stakeholders of Shelby County and Shelbyville, to respectfully but firmly voice our opposition to any proposed construction, conversion, or expansion of immigration detention, processing, or enforcement facilities associated with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), or related federal agencies within our region. Our concerns are broad, serious, and rooted in the well-being of this community and its future. 1. Public Safety and Civil Rights Across the nation, enforcement practices by ICE and affiliated agencies have been widely criticized for violent and dangerous tactics that destabilize communities rather than protect them. Reports and investigative journalism have documented questionable use of force, racial profiling, and practices that erode trust between law enforcement and the public. Many of our neighbors—especially immigrants, children, and people of color—live with the fear that routine interactions might escalate into traumatic encounters with federal agents. Detention facilities house vulnerable individuals, including asylum seekers, families, and children. Credible reports from existing facilities nationwide describe poor living conditions—overcrowding, limited access to healthcare, insufficient sanitation, inadequate mental health support, and extended detention without timely legal recourse. These conditions contribute to anxiety, trauma, and long-term psychological harm. 2. Constitutional and Legal Concerns The expansion of immigration detention infrastructure raises questions about federal overreach and the encroachment of policies that many legal scholars and civil liberties organizations argue compromise fundamental rights. Detention without just cause or fair process challenges the core principles of due process guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. We believe Shelby County and Shelbyville should be cautionary about hosting facilities tied to systemic practices that many view as incompatible with civil liberties and humane treatment. 3. Social and Psychological Harm The presence of detention centers inflicts trauma not only on those detained but on families and communities. Children of detained or deported parents suffer destabilization, educational disruption, and emotional distress. Local schools, health providers, and social services in communities near detention facilities often absorb these impacts without sufficient resources, worsening inequality. We do not want our county to be associated with an environment that deepens social fractures and compounds trauma for children and families. 4. Strain on Local Infrastructure Bringing a detention facility to Shelby County or Shelbyville would place substantial demands on local infrastructure—water systems, sewer and waste management, electricity grids, roads, and emergency services. Small communities are already challenged to maintain and upgrade these systems for current residents. A large federal facility would shift burdens and costs to local taxpayers and could outpace our capacity to responsibly manage growth. 5. Economic and Property Value Impacts Studies and community experiences throughout the country show that large detention facilities can negatively affect property values in surrounding areas due to perceived safety issues, decreased desirability, and the stigma associated with incarceration sites. This could hinder residential investments, slow down economic growth, and diminish the appeal of Shelby County and Shelbyville as places to live, work, and raise families. 6. Community Character and Vision Shelbyville and Shelby County have long prided themselves on being welcoming, safe, and community-oriented. The siting of immigration enforcement and detention infrastructure runs counter to the inclusive identity we strive to cultivate. We believe our region’s future should focus on sustainable growth, quality of life, and strengthening community bonds—not on institutionalizing detention systems that divide and harm. Conclusion For the foregoing reasons—public safety concerns, constitutional rights, community health, economic impact, and infrastructure strain—we urge our elected officials and leaders to oppose any plans to construct or accommodate ICE, CBP, DHS, or similar detention and processing facilities in our area. We ask you to stand with the values of justice, fairness, and community well-being, and to prioritize investments that support positive development for all residents of Shelby County and Shelbyville. I'm watching Morning Joe on February 4, and seeing multiple
propaganda ads from American Sovereignty, in support of
ICE. This is unacceptable. This is the last thing I'd expect to
see on a progressive news channel with hosts quoting the
Preamble of the US Constitution, and Maya Angelou's
"Human Family." Rachel Maddow and other anchors often
report about Americans boycotting companies who work with
and/or are complicit with ICE. I find it ironic that MS NOW is
now shilling propaganda for the rogue regime. ICE is a state-
funded terrorist organization that has destabilized several
American cities, with their violent tactics, and they are
responsible for the death of two American citizens. MS NOW
should not be accepting money from them to run propaganda.
If this continues, I'm sure I'm not the only one who will get my
news and commentary from other sources.

I've created a group called The Resistance as a coalition to protect our people from ICE, and authoritarian overreach by the federal government.

While Shelby County is unlikely to be targeted for ICE raids at this time, I think we should have a plan in place for if and when that threat reaches our area.

Some of the objectives of this coalition would include:
1. Being on the watch for ICE activity, and report it to the your fellow residents.
2. Showing up to ICE activity to peacefully protest and record what is happening to share with the world.
3. Showing solidarity with our immigrant neighbors, and making them feel welcome in Shelby County.

What it does not include:
1. Violence against ICE agents
2. Doxing ICE agents
3. Vandalism

If you are concerned about government overreach and the threat of ICE against our community, you are welcome, regardless of political affiliation. Democrats, disillusioned Republicans, Independents, you are welcome. This goes beyond politics. This is a moral issue. This is about humanity. If they can do it to immigrants, they can do it to you.

I just got this email from the Social Security Administration, touting Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill.” Nice to know the SSA has become a propaganda arm for the rogue Trump administration. The BBB does far more to hurt SSA recipients than it does to help, as most are also on Medicaid which is now cut.
