Last week we attended a public meeting at the Combined Authority's headquarters. We shared with the Mayor and Council Leaders bus users' views on the impacts predicted bus service cuts would have on their daily lives. The Mayor promised to meet us again to discuss the matter further.

Everybody walks or wheels, even if just for very local journeys. Streets often fail to meet pedestrians' needs however. What would make walking easier in Cambridge? Read what Cambridge Living Streets' Linda Jones has to say: cambstravelalliance.org/invest-in-walking-to-build-a-sustainable-future/
Railfuture East Anglia says: "The regional railway network outside the city, including its seven local stations, has been largely overlooked...except around Cambourne, which is a station yet to be built." The Plan must recognise the railway's capability to move large numbers of people sustainably.
Cambridge Living Streets says: "If there are good local shops...then this is a major boost for people's health. They are more inclined to walk and meet others walking, helping to build a sense of community." Enabling walking and wheeling should be a primary priority for new developments.
The annual consultation by the Combined Authority on its future spending plans is vital for bus travel. Make sure you have your say THIS WEEKEND before the consultation closes. Read our response here: cambstravelalliance.org/young-people-need-affordable-bus-travel/
