Optimus does, Blitz goads him into doing it harder.

"A good soldier does what is necessary" Ultra Magnus tells Optimus in his mind. Blitzwing is trembling, barely able to breathe. Until he switches to Wings shouting "STOP!"

Optimus stops, reeling back in horror. Blitzwing's voice is glitchy, his neck deformed with dent marks. They dismiss Optimus' concern, transforming and flying away to deal with it on their own. Optimus stares at his trembling hands.

I need to tell u how much I love #blitzop this ramble has been in my mind for months and I could not fit all of it. Also this is how I find out alt-text has a character limit.

A long ramble about Blitzwing x Optimus (because I like it).

First of all, as a rarepair with little to no basis in canon, you can take it so many different ways depending on what your interpretation of the characters are.

Take Blitzwing as an example: Depending on whether you view him as a singlet, median or system you have countless ways to tackle the dynamic.

As a singlet (non-system) he can be conflicted how to approach and act around Optimus.
As a median (the grey area between singlet and plural) his different facets can have different feelings from each other while all still being Blitzwing.
As a system his alters can all have different thoughts and feelings from each other.

Personally I write him as an OSDD system with fully distinct alters as opposed to non-distinct alters (also called facets within the community) as that's what I'm most familiar with.

My take on the pairing:
Blitzwing is drawn to Optimus' gall and defience when faced against Megatron.
Blitzwing initiates the relationship both as a way to covet Optimus but also to taint him.
Conflicted over his goodness, craving it yet hating how weak it makes him feel.
Optimus values him as a person when he must be a tool.

Optimus on the other hand is drawn to Blitzwing as a taboo act of freedom.
As someone who wraps much of his identity in doing the right thing it's interesting to explore him making a purely selfish choice.
He clings onto the idea that this is temporary because otherwise he has to confront why this won't work.
Blitzwing gives him space to be a person and not an Autobot.

The conflict I find compelling is opposite unbreakable loyalties to factions that do not deserve them. Finding humanity they denied themselves through being together, yet in a way that's incompatible with their identity.
(I am consequently constantly writing dramas)

But there's so many places you can take the pairing!
