Just a little WIP today, a Polish TKS tankette, made appropriately weird-war, and awaiting a paint scheme. With two Wargames Atlantic figures for scale. I was jokingly thinking of using this as a mechanized heavy infantry for trench crusade, as it would be funny.
I got the rocky cliffs terrain done, and am pretty happy with how they turned out. Then last night they got used in some trench crusade games, where we finally played the Dragon scenario. It rampaged around, destroying a whole lot of terrain, and remaining undefeated by the end. Good times!
forgive my blurry picture, but this is it. Full credit to Aramiha Harwood and Wargames Illustrated issue 464
Another lovely day of working on minis (and terrain). I am waiting on my cliffs basing to dry, but in the meantime I finished a forklift and pallets for scatter terrain. I also finished a bog giant, so I can make my lion rampant dark age force into a dragon rampant force (bowman/halfling for scale)
A few random miniatures things from the last little while; a food truck finally painted up, a complete (24 point) Quar weird war army for Xenos Rampant (with a human auxiliary light infantry), and a Monitor ship printed and primed for my ongoing harbour terrain for Trench Crusade. Cheers!
Perhaps you could point at them, with a solemn expectation of duty (may require hat and moustache)
Yet more miniatures! Some dark age archer and slingers, a Mordheim halfling, I finally finished all 6 dark age cavalry I had built (for Pillage or Lion rampant), and my current court warband for Trench Crusade (yes, no praetor or saint). I seem to be finishing random projects on my shelf, hooray!
Alrighty, got the proper photo-box out, and took some finished pictures of my Albigensian Host - my trench pilgrims for Trench Crusade. Mostly kitbash and proxies, and a lot of fun to make. These models also spent Way to long sitting unpainted on my shelf, as I couldn't decide on a colour scheme.
I was shocked by a 25mm limit, but it looks as though you can upgrade the base size with alchemical formulas. Regardless, here is my small homunculus that has counted as a trench dog in my Iron Sultante warband. It's some sort of beasty from a cities of sigmar box that I was given. Cheers!
Ah, turns out I did get some good pictures of one of yesterdays trench crusade battles, I just somehow missed them. I still didn't get any good pics of my battle, where my heretic naval raiders were getting trounced by my friends Court warband. What a shame.
Had more fun trench crusade last night, and although I did attempt to take pictures of the battles as they went, the pictures were too blurry. I did manage the gameboard beforehand, and some pics of my newly finished Trench Pilgrims (my Albigensian Host). Cheers!
Had a few games of Trench Crusade at the house today, first I played my New Antioch against my buddies Court, followed by a rematch where another friend used my warband (he forgot his own). Both fights were real close, which always makes for the best battles. I also finished a sloop, cheers!
Just finished up some more fellows for trench crusade (some more trench pilgrims and ecclesiastic prisoners), as well as some docks and such. The docks are from the lake town terrain set from GW, and it went together really nicely. I may have to get more. Productive couple days.
Had an intro game for a new trench crusade player the other day, which came out pretty evenly by the end. New Antioch vs. Iron Sultanate. I am in the process of making another HMI, and also trying to figure out how to make a better sultanate list (any suggestions welcome). Cheers!
Back with another Trench Crusade game, this one featured an ongoing hurricane of blood, obscuring ranged attacks and impeding charges (presumably all the mud). My Pilgrims fought against my buddy's Court, and somehow I steamrolled him. First time my pilgrims have accomplished anything, Hoorah!
this one is still unfinished, but I am getting there slowly (enough at least for some table terrain)
And some more Trench Crusade minis finished; A second Artillery Witch (the one with the pistol), some Trench Pilgrims finally finished (I was debating a colour scheme for too long), and an AoS Knellmage that I'm going to use as an Observer and a Chorister (for their respective forces). Cheers!
On Sunday, my local gaming group decided to have a John Blanche inspired painting get-together, and I kitbashed and painted this fellow. I think he's some sort of cyborg/mutant that could be found in an underhive. Mostly made from 40k bits, but the head is from a warmachine steamjack of some type.
Whole lotta stuff in this post and the next few. I have had a nice a busy week! First off, the Trench Crusade battlefield from the other day, my friends battled their New Antioch against the Court. They had to set demo charges in each others deployment zones, and Court took the day.
Tonights trench crusade was actually between two friends of mine, playing Court of the Seven (with some proxy units) and New Antioch. The highlight of the whole game being a Goetic warlock being blasted into oblivion off the central tower, after just TPing up there with the LT (the LT fell 12")
Trench Crusade board set up for tonight, I wanted to mix my normal fantasy and trench board stuff, and I think it worked well. Hopefully I remember to take some pictures during the actual games (I usually get caught up in play, and forget).
I swear I do more than just play trench crusade... just not tonight. Had a game around some town walls, where my Heretics were victorious over the perfidious New Antioch. my priest pushed several enemies off walls with puppet master, my wolf did great, and the enemy LT hid under a ruin. Grand time.
A somewhat chill night, listening to podcasts and assembling some more miniatures. Most of them are reinforcements for existing trench crusade warbands, but I also had some objective markers. I am much more tired from work than I first realized, maybe basing will be done tomorrow.
Had a fun game of Trench Crusade the other night, using a homemade scenario with a randomized artillery barrage in between rounds. Even though I lost on objectives, my Lieutenant in machine armour soaked up 25 blood markers through the game, even getting bloodbathed to no effect. MVP.
Been a busy week or so here, but I managed to have friends over for some trench crusade last night, with a custom scenario I am in the process of making. Bit of a painting slump, but I did finish some wretched for my new Court of the Seven warband, so that's good
Well, the small local convention went well! I had a couple setups for Trench Crusade, and a table for Pillage and Dragon Rampant. I got in so many games of trench crusade, and am stoked for more. Even got to use my new grail warband (just a lord of tumours, and the rest grail thralls). Great Fun!
The first full unit I painted when I got back into the hobby (5 years ago), was Nordland handgunners. The painting from then is... not up to my current standard, but was very fun. I also used the Uniform and Heraldry Guide to the Empire, flipping through it while painting my Stirlanders. Cheers!
