For the cloud fans. I think they were on their way to Denali to make snow today.
The nest is dead. Now I see why my furnace didn’t work. They blocked the flow completely. Evil creatures.
I’ve had 4 yellow jacket nest on my house and deck this summer. One is in the outflow vent of my furnace. It caused the furnace to stop working. You’re looking at a bottle with 7 dust inside over the vent. They get the dust on them and take it back to the nest for a quick massacre.
It’s likely going to get above 65F inside today. It’s a heat wave! Stay cool everyone.
This was the wildest sky scene I’ve seen in a while. Noctilucent clouds viewed from above Kodiak around 4am. The orange/red band was from the sun hitting lower clouds I think. The sky was dark full of stars elsewhere else. The plane wing is at the bottom.

I should have watched longer before sharing an image. This is 1218pm local. Look at the structure in that circulation near the ground!
For the lava and ash-devil fans, Kilauea is doing volcano things again. If you scroll back to about 1210pm local time on the youtube channel you can see a well-defined circulation. There's lots of tephra falling too. www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXKu...
Some clouds are retired and slowly meander around. The remaining clouds have places to be.
This is a new younger Jay that has been stopping by. It only takes 2 almonds at a time and is skittish.
Bouncy ice balls falling this evening on the deck. Hope they hit some mosquitoes.
This dandelion control specialist looks a little rough around the edges. Maybe the moose pellet fertilizer will help.
Backyard birch ready to spring. If the sun would ever come out for dare I say an entire day, green up would be here super quick.
