Happy returns to 'very adequate' Ringo Starr ⭐️ (Beatles Monthly, April '69)
Current whereabouts-a lovely listening party in the Cavern where the album sounds massive. Never Know - BrIan Protheroe 'Pinball' atmospheres, and when the recorder kicks in, it's classic 'Macca makes us blub'. 'Home to Us' masterfully breaks the spell. If this is a sign-off, it's a fine one.
It's been such an upbeat week, so to hear of producer Jack Douglas's passing is doubly sad.
How to get started in a new job. Wow. www.nme.com/news/music/t...
Bittersweet to discover that Olivia Harrison has a granddaughter, revealed in an under-the-radar chat with her good friend, Rita Wilson, last October in California. Congrats to Dhani Harrison and his partner Mereki. Lovely to hear some good news.
In the pantheon of Fabs-related events, last night at the British Library was special. A leisurely and detailed unfolding of the events leading to the Beatles playing Stowe school, a playback of pupil John Bloomfield's atmospheric and revealing recording, and a panel of eyewitnesses to it all.
"Flower in the crannied wall, I pluck you out of the crannies, I hold you here, root and all, in my hand, Little flower—but if I could understand What you are, root and all, all in all, I should know what God and man is." What a score! 🌻❤️
Sad day for old-school journalism, with the deaths announced of Ivor Davis and Keith Altham.

It was a thrill to see Eleanor in Forget Me Not at the tiny Bush Theatre in 2016. Her pal Gwyneth Powell (Mrs McCluskey) was in the bar before the show, leaving @tonydwood.bsky.social a little starstruck. Happy birthday, Eleanor! ✨️
Lovely to see recently-retired Pete Best touring his old Hamburg haunts alongside tour guide and Beatles historian Stefanie Hempel www.facebook.com/share/p/184d...
