I laughed for like 30 seconds when I read this because I could relate to Bear #2.

Johnson has alerted the California department of fish and wildlife, which set up more cameras and has tried, unsuccessfully, to lure the bear out. Several weeks ago, the department set up a trap: a large metal cage sprayed with cherry and caramel scents. A bear was found inside it on December 16th, but officials said it was the wrong bear.

I got my 2 kittens from a bush - 10 oz to, now, 9.5 lbs and 13 lbs. At the vet I took the small one out first. When they saw the big one they were like "Ohhhh! Is that a Maine Coon?!!?" No. He's a fluffy bush rat and has the exact same parents as the scrawny bush rat next to him 😭

Moose is a BAT!

Happy birthday. Have this baby merganser. He got blown out of the lake after a particularly windy storm this summer. All the North Country folks told us to leave him alone, he'd be "fine" (code for immediately eaten by whatever I heard howling at night). So of course we found a duck rescue 🙃

The swallowtail emerged after being in a cocoon for over a year. We brought the cocoon inside and kept it in our kitchen. One day we came home and the swallowtail had emerged and was on the curtains. We have a lot of milkweed and butterfly friendly plants so we see at least five monarchs a day 🦋🦋🦋
